Milan vs. Inter

“It’s a match that we all want to play. An important game that evokes strong emotions throughout the city. I think the anxiety about this game is coming soon.”

Javier Zanetti was interviewed by ESPN and talked, of course, about Sunday’s derby which will be his 47th: “It’s a good number. It is important for me to have played so many derbies because it is a game that involves a whole city and your fans want you to win. It’s prepared in a special way and motivation is certainly not missing, it comes from the sun. It will be like all derbies, a tough match. We come from a series of less positive results, in a derby, however, there are no favorites. We must be the best in our hearts, in the sense that we give everything, and with luck you know that things can go in your favor.”

The captain also gave some advice to the team’s young players: “We are a new team with a lot of young guys, I think that for the first time they will realize what it means to play such an important derby. I always try to give a helping hand to them when they ask for it and, above all, I tell them that this is an emotional game they should take advantage of. My last derby? No, I don’t think so. I always draw from all the matches, especially derbies.”
