Former Inter, Lazio, and Manchester City midfielder Ousmane Dabo is happy to see his old Biancocelesti teammate Simone Inzaghi becoming a high-level coach at Inter.
Speaking to Italian news outlet Notizie.com, via FCInterNews, the Frenchman expressed his happiness at seeing Inzaghi succeeding in coaching, and praised the Nerazzurri for putting their faith in the 46-year-old.
Inzaghi has really grown season on season within a coaching role, having initially emerged at his old team as a player Lazio.
The coach impressed with his five seasons in charge in the Italian capital, and earned a move to Inter during the summer of 2021 to replace Antonio Conte.
Whilst it has not all been smooth sailing for Inzaghi at the Nerazzurri, the coach has been praised for guiding the team to three trophies already as well as the knockout rounds of the Champions League in both seasons in charge so far.
“I’m very happy for him,” Dabo said of his old teammates.
“He’s doing a great job, and it shows through in how he manages the group,” he added.
“As each day goes by, he proves more that he is a great coach.”
“He’s repeating the kinds of results that he was getting at Lazio,” Dabo went on, “Inter look like they’re ready to make a comeback.”
“You can see in the results and the way that he manages matches – with spirit and determination.”
“I’m also happy to see that the club has decided to put their trust in him,” the former midfielder said of Inzaghi, “after a few bad results I was reading some negative things about him that I didn’t like to see, but he’s growing a lot and becoming a great coach.”
