Tigre striker Mateo Retegui has made it his priority to make the move to Inter in the summer, ahead of other clubs including Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt.

This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, who report that the 23-year-old wants a move to Serie A over any other league, and that the Nerazzzurri are the team who he particularly would prefer to join.

Retegui has emerged as a major target for the Nerazzurri in recent weeks, with the newly-minted Italian international reported to be high on their shortlist of targets to reinforce in the attacking positions during the summer transfer window.

The interest in signing the 23-year-old has skyrocketed since he made his debut for the Italian national team, and Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that despite the fact that the Nerazzurri have been eyeing him up for some time, the price tag to get a deal done has certainly risen above €20 million.

There will be the question of the player’s price tag for Inter to contend with, particularly given the financial restrictions that they could face in the summer should they fail to qualify for the Champions League for next season.

Then, there is also the matter of Retegui’s somewhat complex contract situation, as he is currently out on loan at Tigre from Boca Juniors, but with the former having the right to buy 50% of his contract from the latter for €2.5 million.

Then, the sale would have to be agreed on the basis of each of the two clubs receiving have of the fee involved.

Inter could also offer striker Facundo Colidio as part of a deal for Retegui, as he is a target for both Tigre and Boca.

As far as the player’s will goes, however, Calciomercato confirm reports that the striker would like a move to the Nerazzurri in the summer ahead of other possible options, including Eintracht.
