Inter-linked Tigre and Italy striker Mateo Retegui makes no secret of the fact that a move to a big club in Europe could be on the horizon for him.

Speaking to the Argentine edition of broadcaster ESPN, via FCInterNews, the 23-year-old addressed his future, also stressing that the most important thing could still be to keep his focus on his current club rather than getting ahead of himself.

Retegui has been a player who has really burst onto the scene over the past few months.

Whilst the 23-year-old had been known to many clubs, including Inter, his form during the current Argentine domestic season and subsequent call-ups and goals for the Italian national team have meant that he is now on the radar of many European clubs.

The Nerazzurri have been reported to have become the main suitors for Retegui, whilst Eintracht Frankfurt, Lazio, and Premier League clubs like Brighton and Hove Albion and Crystal Palace have also entered the chase.

With all of the interest starting to intensify in the breakout Italy star, it can hardly be ignored that he could be on the move in the relatively near future.

For his part, Retegui does not make any effort to hide from the fact that all this interest could mean that he makes the next step relatively soon.

However, at the same time the young striker was keen to stress that as long as he’s a Tigre player he wants to give his all to make sure that he gets the best out of his spell with the club.

The striker gave his perspective, stating that “Right now I’m very calm, I try not to think about it too much.”

“I know a transfer is probable in July, but mentally I’m still focused on my current club, I really want to play and score goals, I want the club to do well,” he added.
