Romelu Lukaku and Marcelo Brozovic could both leave Inter Milan this summer as the Nerazzurri mull over squad turnover.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who detail which players are likely to stay and which to go at Inter during the upcoming summer transfer window.

The futures of a number of players in Inter’s squad are currently in the balance.

There is Lukaku, perhaps the most high-profile situation. Nerazzurri CEO Beppe Marotta has confirmed that the Belgian will return to Chelsea, and then it will be up to the clubs to work out a new loan deal.

It’s far from certain, however, that Chelsea will be willing to grant Inter enough of a discount on a paid loan deal for Lukaku to stay, however. The decision of new Blues coach Mauricio Pochettino will also play a factor.

Not Just Lukaku – Brozovic Future At Inter Milan Also Uncertain

Another high-profile player whose future looks uncertain is midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.

On the one hand, the 30-year-old has become a key part of the team again in recent weeks. Injuries had curtailed his contribution significantly earlier in the campaign, but he’s now fit again.

On the other hand, there’s still a rift between the player and club.

Particularly given Hakan Calhanoglu’s emergence as a starting-quality regista, Inter could cash in on Brozovic this summer.

Gosens & Mkhitaryan Among Those Likely To Stay

Another Inter player whose future has been the subject of some speculation is Robin Gosens.

Particularly teams in the Bundesliga have shown an interest in signing the former Atalanta man. Bayer Leverkusen, Wolfsburg, Borussia Monchenlgadbach, and Eintracth Frankfurt are all reportedly keen.

According to the Gazzetta, however, Inter’s inclination is to keep the German.

Whilst Gosens got off to a rough start at Inter due to long-term injuries, he has started to find something like his best form. From the club’s perspective, the 28-year-old’s professionalism is never in question, and he is an important component of the squad.

The same is true of Henrikh Mkhitaryan. The Armenian joined from Roma on a two-year deal last summer, and has promptly made himself a key man for Inter.

The Gazzetta report that the Nerazzurri will likely offer the 34-year-old a new deal in the coming months.

The same is certainly not true of Roberto Gagliardini. The 29-year-old will leave at the end of this month when his contract expires.

Meanwhile, the Gazzetta report that there is no certainty one way or the other about the futures of Samir Handanovic, Alex Cordaz, or Danilo D’Ambrosio.

Inter would consider keeping the veteran trio around. Their futures will be resolved after the Champions League final.
