Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio admits the club’s interest in Folarin Balogun. However, he reveals that the Nerazzurri are also monitoring other options.

This summer, the Italian giants have been searching the market for a new striker. After missing out on several targets, the management reignited its interest in Balogun.

The 22-year-old is an Arsenal youth product who hasn’t been able to cement himself a spot in Mikel Arteta’s technical project.

Last season, he delivered the goods while on loan at Ligue 1 side Stade Reims. But this wasn’t enough to convince the Gunners.

The USMNT star is available on the market. But we shall see if the Nerazzurri will be able to forge a financially-convincing bid.

For his part, Inter sporting director doesn’t deny the club’s interest in the American striker. Yet, he insists that Balogun is only one of many options for the club.

“We’re looking for someone who can deliver the goals,” said the Nerazzurri official in an interview with Sportmediaset via FcInterNews.

“Balogun? He’s one of the opportunities on the market. However, he’s no the only one we’re following.”

The interviewer also tried to extract a comment from Ausilio on Romelu Lukaku. However, the Inter director swittly dismissed the question, refusing to discuss the topic.

“I’m not interested,” sharply replied the Nerazzurri official.

Inter decided to abandon their pursuit of the Belgian striker after learning that the latter was simultaneously negotiating a transfer with their arch-rivals Juventus.

These links possibly date back to the previous campaign when the 30-year-old was still plying his trade with the Beneamata on loan from Chelsea.
