Italian journalist Xavier Jacobelli feels that Inter Milan acted correctly in temrs of how they handled the Lazar Samardzic transfer saga.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, via FCInter1908, the journalist expressed his support for the Nerazzurri refusing to give in to the 21-year-old’s entourage’s demands in negotiations.
Inter’s chase of 21-year-old former RB Leizpig midfielder Samardzic has finally fallen through for good.
The deal seemed to be on life support for a few days.
However, things have gone off the rails. The Nerazzurri and the players have not been able to find the basis for an agreement.
The aspect that really makes the transfer saga such a farce is the fact that Inter had, for all the world, already seemed to have wrapped up the deal for Samardzic weeks ago.
The Nerazzurri had already reached an agreement with Udinese some time ago. And Samardzic even completed his medicals last week.
But in the end, the unexpected new financial demands by the Serb’s agents saw the deal collapse.
The aftermath of the entire circus leaves Inter in a daze. The Nerazzurri had worked hard to get the deal to a point of near-completion. But now they start again from square one.
Jacobelli: Inter Milan Right To Not Sign Lazar Samardzic
Jacobelli suggested that “With all due respect to the player and his agents, Inter were right to close the door to them.”
“It’s not always possible to submit to demands,” the journalist continued. “Especially when you see these kinds of agent commissions and other such situations.”
“In the transfer market, you have to be careful about discerning between these different kinds of situations.”
Jacobelli was clear about the situation with Samardzic and Inter. “The possibility of going to Inter was tempting for him, but the club did the right thing in not bringing him in.”
