When Inter’s sporting director Piero Ausilio was interviewed by Sky Sport yesterday ahead of Fiorentina – Inter, he commented on Napoli coach Rafa Benitez’ continued bitter comments about Inter in an interview last Friday: “It gets a bit tiring after a while if he, every time Napoli wins two games in a row, says such things… Benitez is well aware of that – also thanks to him – we won two titles, finished second in the league and reached the quarterfinals of the Champions League. I’m sure that he’d sign immediately to repeat those results with Napoli. Hopefully this was the last we heard about it.”

However, Ausilio’s wishes weren’t granted. Benitez couldn’t avoid commenting on Inter even for 24 hours. The former Inter coach, who can’t let go of the bitterness over the non-existent signings and the lack of support at Inter, was interviewed by Sky and Premium Calcio after the game against Sassuolo: “It was a specific question by a Spanish journalist and I answered the same way I did before I came to Italy. At the time Ausilio said that I had a right to complain, but now he says it’s not true. But that’s ok, he he works for Inter and he must do his duty and defend the club. I say these things because it’s the truth. Piero is a great guy, but he works for the team and has to pretend to say certain things. I was asked about impressions and differences between my old and my new team and I answered.”
