Defender Benjamin Pavard has won praise for putting in his “best performance yet” for Inter Milan against Monza.

The player ratings for the match across Italian media praised the 27-year-old’s consistency and how he fit into the team seamlessly, as L’Interista highlights.

Pavard joined Inter during the summer transfer window from Bayern Munich.

The 2018 World Cup winner came in with no shortage of expectations on his shoulders.

Inter parted with a significant transfer fee in order to sign Pavard. The Nerazzurri brought the 27-year-old in as a replacement for Milan Skriniar, who joined Paris Saint-Germain.

And Pavard did start to show his quality right away once he got settled in.

The Frenchman’s pace, elegance, and ability in tackling and marking showed through clearly.

And Pavard’s comfort playing as a fullback as well as a centre-back made him ideally suited to playing in a wide role in the Inter back three.

Benjamin Pavard Praised For “Best Inter Performance Yet” Vs Monza

Pavard missed a few weeks with an injury that he suffered during a Serie A match against Atalanta at the start of November.

The Frenchman lost some of his momentum due to that.

And in the meantime, Yann Bisseck emerged as a starting-quality option on the right side of Inter’s defense to give Pavard some competition.

But in Inter’s last couple matches, Pavard has started.

Add the 27-year-old looked at his best against Monza yesterday.

Pavard put in plenty of marauding runs down the right flank.

The former Bayern man showed how comfortable he is playing high and wide, and making incisive runs up the right channel to participate in attack.

Moreover, Pavard had no lack of technical quality once he got into those positions.

The defender had a big influence thanks to his intelligent positioning and decisive touches and passes in and around the Monza penalty area.
