Andrea Ranocchia was interviewed by Ivan Zazzaroni and Fabio Caressa for Deejay Football Club and the Inter defender discussed several topics related to Inter.
You have gone through a difficult time, how has it felt?
“In recent years I have experienced different things, but when I go through these difficult times, I can only hold on to the work on the pitch. I have to work harder, like now, because that’s what pays off when you get questioned like I was. I had problems even in the transfer market, but now I’m back and I feel good now.”
What has Mazzarri taught you that is different defensively?
“He plays with a three man defense, therefore, he has taught much man marking. He wants us to seek out opponents and meet them high up the pitch, that’s something he has taught me in particular.”
Are you talking internally in the locker room about the penalties Inter hasn’t been awarded?
“Yes, but not a lot. We try to score without penalties, then we will see when we get one. Who is our penalty taker? Frankly, I don’t know who it is, it’s not easy, of course.”
What have Hernanes and Guarin added?
“Quality and physique, definitely. They are very technical and physical. Il Profeta is really strong and Guaro is a beast.”

Do you still have hopes of reaching the national team?
“Obviously, I’ll try to the bitter end. I want to do well until the end and then Prandelli will make his choices. But I want to make things difficult for him.”
A defender also plays a lot with his head and never gives up. What is it you’ve been missing sometimes?
“I would say largely physical form. I did well at first, then I got problems as well as the entire team, and when a team is doing bad, it is difficult for individuals to stand out. Now we’re doing well.”

Inter will be great with mazzari…when we started d season he used palacio as a lone striker…cos if he played with 2 strikers /milito nd palacio/..we won’t have any reliable backup striker…but right nw Icardi is improvin dats y mazzari plays with two stikers nd he has /milito nd ruben botta/ for second half changes…so no 1 shld blame mazzari for nw…4th or 5th is a good league finish for us…cos all othere teams like fiorentina,parma nd so on are also doin well no matter there squad quality…..let’s wait nd see d kind of premivera players Thohir,Ausilio nd mazzari will bring back nd hw many other players will b bought,then we can look forward to a better inter for next season….FORZA INTER

We need an english training staff I saw a show on how english clubs train their players and I knew how those Priemer League players keep going faster from match to match until the season ends

No you’re wrong. It’s the coach that prepares the players and trains them. The medical team is there to help them when they get injured. We have improved… It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that we have improved, that’s all that matters. Once we purchase some more strikers, we will do much better. It’s hard when u only have 3 strikers, 1 that is old and can’t really play good, another that is good but hasn’t been playing good lately, and another that is young but still growing. Look at all the players that have improved under Mazzarri.
LOLLL Head Coach is trained them for their techniques an tactics for the game. Ever heard about fitness coach and medical team? It’s them who is involved with health and physical department of the players. Dont talk like smart while you actually knows nothing.

Almost half of the team is injured, plus the winter transfer except Kovacic is sucks, so what other option he got? He is doing his very best with the situation, showing that he is fluid and adaptable, while on the other hands Mazzarri are too stiff and stubborn that many are out of their limit to support him now.

Did you even know Dr.Combi? He stepped down from the head doctor last year because of the injury plagues in 2012-2013. Although Inter decided to kept him in the medical team as one of the doctors, he had to work together with other medical staffs to prepare the diet and fitness plans for the team. Dr. Combi accepted the mistakes and now he is working with other medical staffs to ensure that inter players will stay fit and available for Mazzari. Now… Why the heck you kept blaming Strama, the former manager of Inter for something that he didn’t know and have the responsibility for?
i believe strama is a genius coach, altough he is still in young age (in coach). the last season isn’t all strama fault, it’s very good that we can get 9th position, with almost half of our player get injured, and the transfer is very bad…strama still in the heart…i really hope that mazzari kicked and strama in again
i don’t think we need to buy dzeko,chicharito,or torres.we should look elsewhere.also i would say that guarin is not doing the best in this position.for next season.samuel out(he will always be in our heart).kuzmanovic out,alvarez out.kovacic should not play every game,but every other game for now is a fine start,or at least more minutes.i would put guarin in cambiaso position,to give more space for hernanes,and kovacic.also he is strong,good with ball.i would love to see someone like banega,carlos vela,arda turan(although that’s unlikely).and for the striker what do you think about alfred finnbogason?he is a prolific striker in holland league,and i think that if we don’t take him some other big club soon will.

In the middle of the season, some posters in this site were strongly criticizing Ranocchia because they assumed the problem of Inter was Rano. When Rano is playing well, they started blaming 3-5-2 formation and started criticizing Mazzarri and his stubborn actions. When some guys including me criticized Mazzarri since November 2013, they posted a very famous statement “Mazzarri is a good coach, he needs time, why don’t you send your CV to Inter for coaching instead of Mazzarri, blah blah blah”. Now only 8 games left, most of these posters started hating Mazzarri, especially after games against Atalanta and Udinese. Now I wanna say one thing “KISS YOUR MAZZARRI’S ASS” for the posters who were opposing my posts. Last thing “WE CANNOT BECOME A TOP CLUB AGAIN UNLESS WE SACK MAZZARRI AND APPOINT A GENUINE COACH WHO CAN DEVELOP OUR PRIMAVERA AND WHO HAS A CLEAR VISION ON MANAGING A GRANDE CLUB LIKE INTER”. Last year we finished 9th, 4/5th place is very good for this year. We now have a solid defense, a great identity, give him another good striker and we will become strong again. And if u haven’t realized we haven’t had any injuries, last year at this time we were playing 18 year olds from the primavera because we had soo many injuries. We have improved with Mazzarii and will continue to do so.
I agree with solo inter, we have become better than last season, everything in management has been changed and what i like about mazzarri is he only using one formation, stramacchioni kept changing the formations every game and the players got furstrated and confused and didnt know how to play. So definetely we have become a better team than last season. Mazzarri has given our players identity and determination to success.

3-5-2 maybe good for Jube in the domestic league because they have the players to play that formation. In fact, jube got their ass kicked when they play in CL with 3-5-2. Marks my words: Inter will start winning again if they revert back to the 4 backs formation just what Mourinho did at 2010. It can be 4-3-2-1, 4-2-3-1, or 4-3-3. WM is only capable of using stubborn 3-5-2 formation, that’s why the team looks confused when the opponents mark both flanks tightly. WM does not understand that the real stengths of grande Inter identity are on its catenaccio and deadly counter attack.
