Goalkeeper Filip Stankovic is hoping to make a big impression on his parent club for Venezia in Serie A this evening.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

At the moment, goalkeeper Stankovic is on loan with Venezia.

The 22-year-old joined the Lagunari on loan during the summer transfer window.

Venezia signed Stankovic on a loan deal containing a purchase option, which could become an obligation to sign the young Serb on a permanent basis if they stay in Serie A.

This is Stankovic’s first experience in Serie A.

The Serbian youth team international has had two seasons with Volendam in the Netherlands. He helped them win promotion to the Eredivisie, and then played a pivotal role as they stayed in the top flight.

And then last campaign, Stankovic was on loan at Sampdoria.

Filip Stankovic Hoping To Impress Parent Club Inter In Venezia Clash

Venezia were the first team in the Italian top flight to put their trust in Stankovic, however.

The Venetians have tried to build a young team for their return to Serie A. And Stankovic certainly represents a keeper with plenty of room to grow.

Therefore, it is very possible that the Serb will spent several seasons with Venezia.

This would be a good opportunity for Stankovic to not just find his feet but firmly establish himself at the Serie A level.

But on the other hand, there is certainly no guarantee that Venezia will sign Stankovic permanently at the end of the season.

And in that case, next summer will be another turning point.

And Inter will have a big say over Stankovic’s future in that case.

Therefore, Stankovic has every reason to want to make a positive impression on his parent club. Starting with this evening.

And perhaps the 22-year-old will even be dreaming of eventually having a place at Inter, where he came through the youth ranks and where his father Dejan enjoyed a legendary playing career.
