The last four games Inter have faced the mighty adversaries Atalanta, Udinese, Livorno and Bologna and the nerazzurri have walked away with three points total from these games. Three of the four games were played at home. This team is an utter embarrassment this season.

Eight times this season Inter has had the lead only to see themselves walking off the pitch with a draw at the end of the game. With this 2-2 draw (which was lucky considering Acquafresca’s shot the last minute) Inter has managed 14 draws so far, most of them against the bottom teams.

Surprisingly though the team started out well enough, even though Erick Thohir was in the stands they didn’t try to lull him to sleep the first half. For the first time in a long time the Inter side was awake the first 45. After Icardi scored the 1-0 goal the team continued to play decent football but as always giving the opponent chances to score on set pieces. The 1-1 equalizer came after Nagatomo was defeated one on one; Handanovic saved the first shot but couldn’t get back to get the second one.

Kovacic came on for D’Ambrosio in the 53rd minute and he was brilliant, it is lovely to see an actual football player next to Hernanes in midfield. They understand each other on the pitch. But there is something rotten in this team, because it is beyond embarrassing to have Bologna create so many problems for a team that is fighting for a spot in Europe. The Inter players seem lost and have forgotten the basic things, like take a shot when you have the opportunity. Passing the ball aimlessly around the pitch will get you nothing. Luckily there is a young lad named Mauro Icardi on the team who isn’t afraid to shoot. His 2-1 goal was beautiful; he got a pass from Hernanes on a counter, looked up and drilled it home via the post. No doubts there, just straight for the goal.

And just a few minutes after the splendid goal there it came. The defensive disaster that led to Bologna scoring the 2-2 and sealing the draw. It was a blunder by Cambiasso who lost his player and Rolando who got caught unaware when the ball landed in front of him.; easy goal for Kone. Junior mistakes and bad marking, what else is new?

Suddenly it happened. Inter got a penalty. People in the stands and in front of their TV’s were shocked, who could remember what those looked like anymore? Well it turns out the players were equally shocked by the occurrence because they didn’t know who the penalty taker on the pitch was (no joke, they actually didn’t know) and Diego Milito apparently has forgotten how to score them. The penalty was as bad as the Inter defending, but at least now we won’t have to fret about the number of games without a penalty. Whofuckingwhoo.

Now I don’t want to hear anything more about bad luck. This three-pointer was not lost due to bad luck. It was lost due to inability to hold a lead and a lack of organization apparent game after game, the players look lost and so does the coach. When you have Ranocchia play as a striker the last minutes of the game you are desperate. And this against Bologna; a team fighting for its survival in serie a.

The only good things to take away from this game were Kovacic’s performance when he came on and of course Mauro Icardi’s goal scoring. The rest, just like this season isn’t worth remembering.
