Inter Milan and Atalanta are set to meet for crunch talks to discuss a transfer of Ademola Lookman early next week.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter Milan are pushing to sign Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman. The Nigerian international is their top target in attack this summer.

The Nerazzurri have already made an offer to Atalanta for Lookman.

La Dea have rejected the initial bid, which Inter have not yet increased. However, the player himself reportedly wants to join.

Widespread reports indicate that Inter’s first offer to Atalanta was for €40 million.

Atalanta, on the other hand, are reportedly holding out for around €50 million.

Ademola Lookman himself wants to join Inter this summer. The 27-year-old is pushing for the transfer.

Therefore, Inter are hoping that the player’s desire can be the decisive factor.

Lookman has already turned down other options such as Atletico Madrid and Napoli. His priority is joining Inter.

The former RB Leipzig and Fulham forward has agreed a contract with Inter, reportedly worth around €4.5 million net per season.

Therefore, now the big question is when Inter will make another offer to Atalanta.

The Gazzetta report that Inter are unlikely to return to the table over the weekend. However, they’re not going to wait long after that.

According to the newspaper, the Nerazzurri will once again contact Atalanta in the first couple days of next week to try and hammer out a deal for Lookman.
