The absence of a player like Ademola Lookman and of a defensive reinforcement was worryingly apparent for Inter Milan against Udinese.
This is the view in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They argue that the match made Inter’s transfer window look incomplete.
Inter Milan have signed four players this summer – Petar Sucic, Luis Henrique, Ange-Yoan Bonny, and Andy Diouf.
Furthermore, and just as significantly, striker Francesco Pio Esposito has gotten a spot in the first team squad.
Inter have not really overhauled the starting eleven compared to last season. The fact that only Sucic has started in Serie A so far is evidence of that.
However, the Nerazzurri have aimed to inject some fresh blood, give coach Cristian Chivu a deeper squad, and build for the future.

Against Torino on opening day, Inter looked highly convincing despite the lack of a truly blockbuster signing.
However, it was a very different story against Udinese yesterday.
After a bright opening fifteen minutes in which Inter went ahead, they crumbled under the physical pressure from Udinese, allowing the Friulani to come behind and go 2-1 up.
Among the issues that were apparent was a disjointed looking back three from Inter.
Francesco Acerbi looked half a step off the pace in his efforts to mark Udinese striker Keinan Davis. Meanwhile, Yann Bisseck looked all over the place.
The Corriere suggest that Inter will be regretting their decision not to sign a defender this summer after seeing the backline fall apart against Udinese.
The Nerazzurri missed out on top targets like Giovanni Leoni and Koni De Winter.
However, for the past few weeks Inter have also been targeting Udinese’s Oumar Solet.
The very same Solet was on the other side yesterday. And in contrast to Acerbi and Bisseck, the Frenchman had an impeccable match at the back.
Meanwhile, the Corriere note, Inter also lacked a bit of flair in attack to unlock the match as they chased it in the second half.
The irony is hard not to see after the Nerazzurri chased Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman for much of the summer.
I think Lauraro was not there at all and Inter felt the void of Pavard. Why they are not playing Frattesi?? I think Biscek is more like Demarco but on the right wing. The good thing is that the players gave all their willingness and effort to win.

we don’t need lookman. we ran far with backups like taremi and arna. we absolutely need defender! you got rid of asllani and the problem still exists, you know what, the problem is the so-called kid with potential in the back; big build, but offers nothing to defense. if anyone really watched inter last season you know what I mean. that kid is the biggest problem and isn’t developing well. he will never be big or reliable defender.

Getting a coach with little to no experience when telling fans you’re fighting on all fronts is naive
It could work out but it’s a huge gamble and likely will fail.
Then, you buy absolute nobodies for more than their worth because you stupidly came out and told the world you had money to invest for the first time in 5-6 years.
So now we have a squad who were already too old, but have younger / but much worse off the bench as replacements.
You’re asking too much of Pio to be the guy to change games, there also worryingly looked to be no actual plan B (much like Inzaghi) at least he changed it, but just chucking on as many forwards as possible isn’t really a good coach’s tactics.
Thuram is really starting to piss me off, he is either not interested or trying some stupid trick, he should have hit that ball and likely scored.
I honestly believe if they’d played Pavard instead of bisseck (he was at fault for the 2nd and made many same mistakes as previous)
Not brought in Hakan and kept the same mid as Torino we’d have won this game comfortably,
I really wouldn’t be upset if Hakan left today, I just feel wasting a month on Lookman and then not getting it done when you know it’s a need, and then not even buying a 2nd/3rd choice in that role is stupidity
We as fans can all see what we need, yet the club continue to fail and make silly decisions.
Any other team that won 2 leagues and got to two champions league finals would be flying right now with a top manager and some big investment, not us, we get Parma’s 6 goal man and a nobody from lens that was so good nobody else wanted him.

Get rid of this godawful 3-5-2 formation ffs. It doesn’t work anymore. Top clubs figured out that they need to close Dimarco and Dumfries and 80% of our attack plan is closed. They keep set pieces at minimum and we are lost. Of all our cbs the only one who is at the level to play for us is Bastoni, and Augusto to be moved to lb. And that’s it, the rest are either too old, in decline or don’t have skill to play anymore for a team who is trying to win multiple trophies. The rest are only good enough to be 4th option for cb for standard 4 back formation.
0 creativity in the middle, Sucic needs to play either in centre or on the right side, on the left was pretty much useless. I would rather keep Mhiki as first choice on the left side and kick both Hakan and Zielinski as last on the picking order. Give more playing time to Frattesi and Diouf instead of them. Luis and Dimarco as wingers, cause they are both awful in defense, that way Dimarco will get some breathing space because he won’t be needed that much in defense. Hopefully Luis finally settles and start playing better, cause so far he was maybe the worst player since he came (i know new players need time to find themselves and all in new clubs, but we can’t wait till February so he can start playing like he did in France).
As for strikers, Pio and Bonny need to be subbed earlier to get some fresh legs on the pitch. Both Thuram and Lautaro misses a lot, but captain is losing much energy because he gets back in the middle and defense to help a lot, and Thuram to me seems mostly uninterested, waits way too much to shot the fucking ball.
Chivu needs to get some space, his objective is top 4 and to get as far as he can in CL. We all hope that Inter wins all trophies, but we need much better reinforcements and to give some kids more playing time so some can play as backup, and then we can spend more on quality players.
It’s difficult to change the playing style with the old demoralized players fit for a system built round Inzaghi’s idea of football. We have brought in a few youngsters non of them having a quality of a starting player, at the moment. We had a criminal transfer window that nobody could make a sense of and, instead of bringing in a few key starters, we have basically kept the same 11 as under Inzaghi..
Honestly i dread what kind of transfers will be made next season when we’ll need to replace minimum 10 players. The only sure reinforcements are Carboni and Stankovic for 25mil.

Probable transfers out also are Dumfries, Thuram and maybe one of this year new players if they underperform (which is more than likely).
