Napoli have reportedly set their sights on Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo as a concrete midfield target.

According to Il Mattino via FCInterNews, the Partenopei plan to prioritize signing the English youngster over pursuing Davide Frattesi.

With Kevin De Bruyne sidelined with a long-term injury, Napoli are likely to strengthen the midfield department in January.

Furthermore, Antonio Conte’s men have identified Inter Milan star Davide Frattesi as a potential target.

Meanwhile, the 26-year-old is reportedly keen to leave San Siro after an underwhelming first half of the season.

Frattesi has been on the fringes of Inter’s project under Cristian Chivu.

Therefore, the former Sassuolo midfielder is open to departing Giuseppe Meazza next month.

However, Napoli will not pursue the Inter outcast, as they aim to sign Kobbie Mainoo.

Mainoo has fallen out of favor at Old Trafford and could be on his way out when the transfer window reopens in January.
