Sunday’s Serie A showdown between Genoa and Inter Milan produced just one controversial moment.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the only questionable incident occurred in the first half.

Inter Milan strolled to a comfortable 2-0 halftime lead, as Yann Bisseck and Lautaro Martinez beat Nicola Leali.

However, Genoa pulled one back in the 68th minute through Vitinha, who breezed past Alessandro Bastoni.

Despite that setback, the Nerazzurri extended their unbeaten league run against the Griffins to 13 games.

It was plain sailing for referee Daniele Doveri, who only had one difficult decision to make.

Indeed, Genoa defender Alessandro Marcandalli wrapped his hands around Petar Sucic’s body inside the box.

Yet, Doveri deemed the contact insufficient to award a penalty, despite Marcandalli showing no clear intent to play the ball.

Meanwhile, Doveri also booked Nicolo Barella for a harsh protest over a non-existent handball in the second half.

Otherwise, the match passed without incident, allowing Inter to see out the contest without further controversy.
