Inter Milan stars Alessandro Bastoni echoed the actions of legendary Juventus captain Giorgio Chiellini in Saturday’s Derby d’Italia.
According to Corriere della Serra via FCInterNews, Bastoni’s behavior at San Siro resembled Chiellini’s antics from back in the day.
Cristian Chivu ended his ‘big game’ curse in Serie A last weekend, as Inter claimed a controversial 3-2 win over 10-man Juventus.
Indeed, Pierre Kalulu’s expulsion late in the first half tilted the balance scales in Inter’s favor, though the Nerazzurri left it late to beat their bitter rivals.

Bastoni made referee Federico La Penna believe Kalulu committed a foul on him toward the end of the first half.
Since the Frenchman was already on a yellow card, a second booking meant he was out of the game.
However, there was nothing particularly reckless in Kalulu’s challenge, making the decision highly controversial.
Furthermore, Chiellini confronted the referee in a tunnel horror show.
It was almost as if he had forgotten his own past, when he feigned a bookable foul on Ivan Perisic years ago and was later caught celebrating the deception with enthusiasm.
What a karma for rube
let them taste their own medicine
Forza Inter. There were many occasions when Inter lost points or even the Scudetto due to mistakes or even favoritism of Juventus.
The shame is on those who forget.
I don’t enjoy that simulation has become a part of basically every sport. That said,
I am even more annoyed by the subjective and situational application of rules.
Defenders throw themselves to the ground when trapped in the corner- foul. A winger does it on the other end- dive. A guy gets his first yellow card for a slight touch, trying to prevent a counter- soft call, clever sportsmanship. If it’s his second yellow- a scandal and a national tragedy of poor sportsmanship. Etc, etc. A rule is a rule. Why do we have the expectation that rules should be enforced more or less dependent on how the situation “feels.”
Why is Kalulu raising his hand out in front of Bastoni? His intent is clear and there is no motivation to raise his hand other than to obstruct.
When a guy slides in wildly and misses the ball but the man with the ball jumps over his legs it isn’t a foul. If the guy leaves his leg to get hit it’s a foul. Why? Why is the contact the infraction? The man with the ball has to proactively avoid contact and the result is there is no foul.
It’s funny how we’ve had our own share of controversy against us and yet we haven’t seen this amount of backlash from the media or fans, now that it happens to Rubentus they condemn the league, pathetic!
Right on. Subjective, situational refereeing is part of the problem.
If I were Bastoni, I wouldn’t care about all the off-field commotion. Show me a team or league in the world that doesn’t resort to “dirty tricks” to undermine their opponents. It’s commonplace to find a thousand excuses when you lose, but when you’re the winner, the various methods you employ to win the game are a testament to your intelligence.
Yup. Thats how much of hypocrisy going on
