Under-fire defender Alessandro Bastoni could reportedly end his nine-year association with Inter Milan in the summer.
According to Corriere della Sera via FCInter1908, there are three reasons why the 26-year-old could depart San Siro in the coming months.
La Liga giants Barcelona have earmarked the former Atalanta man as their top target ahead of the summer transfer window.
Furthermore, the recent turn of events could help the Blaugrana lure the Italian star away from Serie A.
Indeed, Bastoni’s career has reached its lowest point, and a summer exit could be the best option to get back on track.
Three Reasons Why Alessandro Bastoni Could Leave Inter Milan
In addition to giving away a cheap penalty against Liverpool in the Champions League group/league phase, Bastoni has recently made a series of blunders.
For starters, his antics in February’s Derby d’Italia clash made him one of the least popular figures in Serie A.
Indeed, Alessandro Bastoni managed to trick referee Federico La Penna into unfairly dismissing Pierre Kalulu.
Since then, fans all over the country have been booing the Nerazzurri stalwart.
However, Bastoni’s biggest mistake came yesterday as he received a straight red card in Italy’s decisive FIFA World Cup qualifier.
Last night’s expulsion against Bosnia & Herzegovina has put the player’s standing with fans under further scrutiny.
As things stand, he looks closer to leaving his homeland than staying.
I’m worried for his life. He is right now most hated man in Italy.
Italians did it to themselves, they were booing and terrorizing, abusing verbally last few months, they sent fucking death treats to his family and you think this is fine! this is wrong with the Italian society and this is the reason no big player want to play there! media propaganda is think you can see only in Italy!
Inter and Italia should move away from this 352 asap.
Exactly. The only reason we play 3backs is because Bastoni and Dimarco cant play in a 4 back formation well which is crazy. So they cant play in a most basic formation 442? Thats just how limiting their level is.
I think Dimarco could be a fullback. It would be somewhat of a waste of his skillset. Bastini, on the other hand, doesn’t seem capable of being one of two center backs. It is a sulrosingly difficult position- mentally- and he has simply never had the experience of playing that role.
Thats why they get payed this insane money. Because they are expected to bounce back after they make a mistake and continue. Players have had way worse episodes. And way worse seasons. Sandro is fine. The media campaign the rubentina made put too much spotlight. Last night he covered for mancini zone on that foul and he played a new possition. He is not a central in a 3-5-2
But he played no matter what. He’ll bounce back. Rino should have started with palestra and pio. Gati for central and calafiori left of sandro was not fully fit.
But its over now.
Moving on. Forza Inter
In fact the red card would’ve made sense if it was in the second half and facing big teams like Brazail, Spain or any other decent team. The more the replays shows the more crazy it gets like how does a professional player who gets paid millions do something like that. No one would’ve blamed him if if just let the player go and score since there was plenty of time to change the final result. but to do it in such manner against opponents who otherwise would had no chance means Bastoni is weak in so many levels and highly overrated. I think Barcelona might decide against to sign him because their fans are starting to realise what weak minded player Bastoni is in big games. If Bastoni actually did it on purpose to guarantee a move away from Inter I think that will backfire big time. I hope CHivu man up and be realistic on how to use him because he won’t be mentally fit to play matches for 90+ minutes
yeah im done with him. getting a red card in a game to go to the world cup is unforgiveable. even risking a red card is not acceptable. he is finished.
