Runaway Serie A leaders Inter Milan are reportedly preparing for a midfield overhaul, with Nicolo Barella set to remain the focal point.

According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, the diminutive Italian star is the only Nerazzurri midfielder with a guaranteed spot in the team.

Despite having several ups and downs this season, Nicolo Barella has been one of the architects of Inter’s dominant Serie A.

Indeed, the 29-year-old has emerged as Inter’s driving force in the middle of the park.

Barella has netted three goals and added nine assists across 30 league appearances in his second-best season at San Siro.
