Jonathan: “We are Inter and we must try our best”

As a guest on Inter Channel’s ‘Radio Appiano’, Jonathan Cicero Moreira talked about the beginning of the season with Roberto Monzani. Here are his words, starting from the new shoes: “The shoes have great control, I don’t (laughs). I haven’t started yet, I have to recover the right weight. I’m working on this, the legs are locked but is part of the job. It needs to be improved, the support of the fans is important and it gives us more energy. The training camp is always a difficult phase, then we are missing many. I always try to help the younger ones, yesterday we had a party in my room and JJ and Dodò were missing, if you want to you can come (laughs). Football is fun. It was a party with music, water, juice.”

The prospects in this training camp: “We are working well but last year we did more because there was no preliminary. We are looking to get to 100%. There’s one more week of hard work, then the friendlies that can give us and the new players confidence will start. The perspective for me this year is positive, we are coming from a good season, we are in Europe. Inter can’t stay out of it. Dodò? My first contact with him was here, he has quality and strength even though he’s young and if he grows like JJ he will be one of the strongest in 2-3 years. Our staff will make him grow, it was a good buy. Our serenity? The coach said it well, you need a team that never gives up. It’s early and many things have changed, important players are gone, we have to rebuild the team as the coach wants. The environment is positive and improving day after day. We’ll have a good season.”

On a personal level? “I think I need to do better, I want to help the team get back into the Champions League. Those that play there are more experienced, therefore they can do a better market. But we are Inter and we must try our best. A teammate I would bet on? Kovacic, at the end of last season he showed that he is growing, we know that he is a talent. He’s young but this year he will have a lot of games to prove he can take a big step. Let’s not forget Rodrigo, fundamental. We’re waiting to start the new season together as soon as possible.”
