Jonathan and Inter work for a renewal of the contract. The talks between the Inter management and employees of the Brazilian player actually started a few weeks ago, and as collected by calciomercato.com and confirmed by the entourage of the player, the talks to renew the existing contract which expires in 2015 are very advanced and they are now working on a deal that will stretch until 2017 according to Inter’s ideas, at most until 2018 as leeway. There have already been two meetings and by September it is expected another, possibly decisive to agree on the details. The salary for Jonathan will be slightly altered from the current salary of 1.1 million, which could rise up to a million and a half plus bonuses.

I wish Marco Branca still worked for Inter – if Branca was doing the negotiations Jonathan would get a 5 year extension worth 2 mill per season, a buyout clause worth 15 million and no option to be loaned out…………how I miss Inter’s greatest GM of all-time so much……….

Totally agree with u, but Jonathan is not inter material, so they should extend only one yr with a reduced salary , and next season Mbaye should come back from loan and should be given a chance , he is only 19 and in my opinion he is way better than Jonathan

Totally agree with you. I personally think that instead of finding an SS, striker, or midfielder, what we need critically is an excellent wing back. Thank god if the wing back is as good as maicon, in his inter-era. But, we need at least decent wingback. We are not short of wing back players for sure, but we are lack of quality for that position. I think maxwell, when he was in Inter, even if he was not regular player in Inter (sub of Grosso, CMIIW) is a lot better than any of wing back that we have currently
