It’s Europa League time again for Inter and this afternoon Walter Mazzarri previewed the match with journalists at a press conference.
The coach had this to say about tomorrow’s opponents: “We’ve studied Saint-Étienne because they’re doing very well in the French league and deserve our respect. Historically they’re one of France’s most prestigious sides. Saint-Étienne are a skilful, well-drilled outfit and we’ll do well to be wary of them.
“We want to carry on playing the way we did against Napoli. I want to see the same tactical and mental approach we showed then. I’m totally focused on the next game, as I always am. I don’t have time to think about other things. I’m trying to get the best out of the players I have to work with.”
The topic of conversation switched to French football in general. “Yes, I think the Italian and French leagues are similar. There are some top-quality sides, PSG being the most obvious example. They’re up there with the biggest teams in the world and they beat Barcelona recently. They’re now competing with the very best and of course they’re winning in their domestic league, although it’s still balanced. That means that Ligue 1 has improved.”
Back on Serie A and the heavy fixture list awaiting Inter in the coming weeks, Mazzarri admitted: “I’m working with my backroom team and the players to figure out how best to rotate according to the men we have available. That will be one factor to consider tomorrow.
“The booing? It only concerns me if it affects those who are playing. I think once we get over our injury problems we can give anyone a game. The hard thing is being consistent: we need to start with the same approach we had against Napoli. We’ve done that on other occasions this season too. If we’re able to play like that, we’ll be in the mix for third.”
Finally, a comment on Vidic: “I think he’s having a great season. He’s made a few mistakes but he’s not to blame for anything – not for the goals against Napoli nor any others. I never like to talk about blame.”

the stupid people logic :
when we lose that means we’re shit, when we draw that means we’re lucky, when we win that means our opponent is shit
There’s some truth in what you say but we have to be honest because this is inter the statement should look more like this ” when inter loses that means they are truly shit, when Inter draws that means they are kinda shit, when they win that means Inter is still shit”
ya i guess Rubentus are much more consistent in that sense they are always truly shit!!! JUVE MERDA
Do you think Inter did well against Napoli? Then fuck you. We needed a win real bad after 2 humiliating defeats against midtable teams and you think a lucky draw against Napoli was a good result? We could have lost against Napoli, you were just lucky bitch.
maybe inter will win a serie a game in November….this month seems to be a writeoff. If they lose this weekend Inter only managed 1 point for the month of october. That’s Pretty impressive considering that Inter could have easily lost to Napoli and made 0 points in Serie A for the month of october
losing 4-1 to Cagliari and 3-0 to Fiorentina was not humiliating – it was expected. Mazzarri prepared the troops to play their best games possible and they got beat both times. I wasn’t surprised at all – i felt that Cagliari and Fiorentina played amazing ! Napoli on the other had did not play a great game and they tied. Guess it’s kinda hard for a team to play on 3 fronts…..maybe they can only play once a week ??
ya just like how Rubentus played their absolute best and lost to olympiakos. I am not surprised either
i see you are following Champion’s league…if you watched any of the games do you really think that Inter is that calibre of team to play in such an elite tournament ? it’s not like Juve lost 7-1 or even lost 4-1 to last place in the league or anything like that………
ya maybe we are not of that calibre right now but neither are Rube as it seems so …Besides I am a die hard optimist we’l take example from a team that was in Serie B not long ago and is doing so well now
at least you can admit that you are not of that calibre right now. Perhaps you can convey that message to Mr. Thohir clearly if a dummy like you knows that then why does your president think that Inter can qualify for CL ??? Juve qualified for CL 3 years in a Row, only the best of the best get to play in Champion’s league – that’s why Juventus is there !!!!!
ya let see if the best of the best Rubentus can get past the group stage in CL… As they say hope always springs eternal …if dummys like you can have such hope then we can surely hope for CL …By the way if we are so god awful and Rubentus are so Magical what the hell are doing here anyway??
bitch what are you saying? your bias makes you a blind idiot troll. Juve may be good enough to BE IN the CL, but not good enough to make any type of considerable progress in it. When we go the the CL, we win treble. The day Juve manages to do that, then speak about CL pedigree.
the last time you played in CL you were the defending champs and you got embarassed with a 145 mill payroll and what did it get you? NOTHING ! Next year Inter will have to qualify for Coppa Italia never mind europe !!!!
I think the team showed some good football in parts in both the first two games you mentioned and even more against Napoli so at least there is progress. If Mazzarri can get us transitioning between defence and attack faster however that would make a massive difference, he also needs to get Icardi better quality possession. A win in this EL match could be a good boost.
I worry about fatigue again. They seemed not in the best shape last match, they started to loose their breath in the beginning of second half.
why is mazzari talkin as if we played great against Napoli …our defence was shit ….napoli’s defence was shit …thats da only reason why we scored other than that …there aint no one single decent play …Hernanes goal was all alonem the only decent play was Icardi’s chance that he couldn’t score …and Guarin’s goal was a follow goal right in the field i dont see the team improving
What I learned from the Napoli match:
– The mentality from the players at the start of the match was superb. It needs to be like this EVERY TIME
– The patience at the forward play from Inter is good
– BUT sometimes the ball moves around TOO slowly
– The players need ideas and an intern agreement with what should happen at the last third part of the pitch.. No one knew what to do with the ball!!! (This is the most frustrating thing to see as a supporter)
Good call mate. Totally agree!
Missing most of our chances, failing to produce decent crosses, conceding easy goals, drawing and giving our fans heart attacks in the end of the match. Go mediocrity!!! Wooooooooohooooooooooo
even though we Interisti all have the same feelings when it comes to Mazzarri,i acctually agree with him about maintaining the same style of play that we played against Napoli.
But no matter what our players have to play with their heart’s regarding if we play in a UCL final or in Serie A against the lowest ranking team it does not matter this is Inter for GOD’s sake.
Forza Inter!
Inter did play with their heart against Cagliari but they lost 4-1. They played their best against Fiorentina and lost 3-0. These things happen under Mazzarri. The only problem is even though these things happen, Thohir is stupid enough to extend his contract for 3.3 mill a year so who’s to blame ??
” I never like to talk about blame”
