Walter Mazzarri analyzed the game and the situation in the group after the St Etienne game;
“We played real well in the first half. Then the rhytm got higherand we tried to resist. It was a difficult game that we could and maybe shoud have closed. I am pretty satisfied with the way my team played, we aren’t qualified to the next stage yet but it is certainly a positive result. My compliments to St Etienne, they played a great second half.”

Inspiring first half of play by all…looked good against a pretty strong team playing at home in a packed and charged stadium. St. Etienne really stormed back in the second half. Vidic AGAIN culpable for yet another goal…for such an experienced player there really is no explaining the lapses he has in most games that are costing this team points. Still tho, we are top of our table with 8 pts while everyone else has 4. So things are looking good for our advancement. A win against Hellas Verona this weekend will be necessary aided by rested and healing players, we should start getting back on the right track
