Walter Mazzarri arrived to the press conference to comment on the draw against St Etienne which brought Inter closer to the qualification to the next round, but it is still not a done deal. Here are the first words from the Inter coach in the press room at the Geoffroy Guichard arena;

“I am proud of the game; we played really well in the first half. We should have and we could have closed the game, then due to all the absent players we suffered a little in the second half. But we played as a team, we knew how to suffer and we took home an important point that brings us very close to the qualification. It was a shame about their equalizer, had we been a bit more alert we would have gotten the win but the lads did well and I am proud of how they reacted today. Bonazzoli? You can see that he has a bright future if he continues to work hard and be a professional. He did great and he allowed us with his play to have the great first half we did. Today he helped the team and he was very good. He really deserves the compliments. Palazzi also did well in his debut and I am happy for him.”

Will the fans’ support against Verona be important on Sunday?

“We want to do well and we hope the fans will drag the team along with them, the lads deserve the support.”
