After yesterday’s defeat, it’s pretty obvious that we are lacking the “Quality” in the players… the “Grinta”… The Inter Soul… it was a busy night yesterday from analysis of the situation to player ratings that came all within the margin of 4 and 5.5… which sums up the situation pretty good… I decided to take a look at each player now and then at that position… I’m not even getting the Treble team in comparison… I’m geting the same team Mancini had 7 years ago.
Goalkeepers:
2008 –> Julio Cesar with Francesco Toldo as his substitution… Julio Cesar at his best… when he was considered one of the best 3 goalkeepers in the world.
2014 –> Samir Handanovic with Juan Carrizo as his substitution… tho Samir is pretty good, no one till now dared to rate him from the best 5 goalkeepers in the world.
Defense:
2008 –> Christian Chivu, Marco Materazzi, Javier Zanetti, Douglas Maicon, Ivan Cordoba, Maxwell and Walter Samuel… we had 7 high class defenders fighting for four places… and 3 of them are performing on champions league football till now. with Nicolas Burdisso and Nelson Rivas as rarely used substitutes
2014 –> Andrea Rannocchia, Yuto Nagatomo, Jonathan, Marco Andreolli, Nemanja Vidic, Danilo D’ambrosio, Hugo Campagnaro, Juan Jesus, Dodo. Mbaye… I see a bunch of ‘players’ that even can’t get a call for their national team, repetitive mistakes, and a dreadful display for years now.
Midfield:
2008 –> Esteban Cambiasso, Patrick Vieira, Dejan Stankovic, Luis Figo, Luis Jimenez, Cesar, Solari & Olivier Dacourt Fighting for 4 spots also… top class players… with Bolzoni, Maniche and Pele as substitutes
2014 –> Mateo Kovacic, Fredy Guarin, Zdravko Kuzmanovic, Gary Medel, Joel Obi, Rene Krhin, Hernanes & M’Vila, the situation differs here between talented and very young, useless, stubborn, and loanee flops… It’s so unfair.
Attack:
2008 –> Ibrahimovic, Hernan Crespo & David Suazo… with Julio Cruz and Mario Balotelli their substitutions… Creativity at it’s finest, Bravery and speed… with two crucial and sharp subs.
2014 –> Osvaldo, Palacio, Icardi and Bonazzoli… another ‘decent’ loanee flop… dead man walking… and two boys.
The Coach is the same… with two assisstant managers in Villas Boas and Mihailovic… The team was simply attracting talents and big names… by the look at the team nowadays… we have … nothing compared to that so mediocre year in Inter’s History.
Why not thinking about getting him, He is young, Talented and cheap, So why not? He alongside Kova looks amazing

We cannot just compare current Inter to 2008 Inter because nowadays, there is nobody who earns more than 3.5m euros per season. Our financial situation has not improved significantly yet, so we should understand why Inter is not recovering… No investments, No success. However, this team really wants to get out of the scratch, so we have to support the team!

I almost guarantee that if we get a world class player today he would suck at inter for the next 2-3 months until the team find his rhythm. I can see the mistakes, but I can also see good things. I am not asking people to blindly cheer, but to stop dumping shit to the team. ET is not going to write a check for 100 MM Euros and give us a brand new squad. And don’t tell me that then he better sell the club because remember that nobody wanted to buy inter when Morratti was trying to sell it, even the Chinese backed up from the deal. So, it is what is. There are more reasons than Mazzarri as to why inter is in the position that they are in at the moment. Firstly, you have economic reasons, then there’s coaching but Inter has a lack of squad depth. How can you play in Serie A and europe without squad depth ?? you will burn your players out !
