Gazzetta dello Sport writes of the renewed interest of Liverpool in Mateo Kovacic.
Now that Samir Handanovic is likely to stay, the Nerazzurri’s 20 year-old Croat talent looks more likely to leave. Liverpool’s offer has possibly risen to about €20 or €21 million.
It all seems to depend on the drive of Brendan Rodgers and whether or not he will stay with the Reds. The coach is crazy about Kovacic and if he stays Liverpool could increase the offer. Still though, even €25 million may not convince Inter.

I would hope that the Inter-board could get into their heads that it actually is possible to keep not only Icardi but also Kova and Handa! They could be crucial for our success the following seasons. I wouldnt have any more faith in possible replacements for all the three. For example: Kova out, and then who inn? Felipe Melo? Gabi? If you see realistic on who we could bring in Inter will come out as the loser if any of these leave. Although if any could leave Handanovic would be the most disposable imo.
As much as reject the notion to sell kovacic, I also understand the struggle of management to get invome to invest in the mercato. We have a lot of deadweights in the team, but no clubs are interested with them. We have difficulty in selling players. Just look at handa, since there is no good offer, we cant cash him out, instead going to renew. Even alvarez has problem in redemption (what a c%ck sunderland). Perhaps kova is the only inter player who has real admirer from top club, that’s why management have no choice but to consider the offers, despite the fact that mancini wants kova to stay. We cant re-enforce without sacrificing 1 or 2. I hope management could find a way to strengthen the team without selling Kova. I dont mind to sell guarin and hernanes.
I truly cant see how inter can spend 60m in this mercato considering we also have a lot to pay for medel, shaqiri, dodo. And this season hasnt been a good season economically. I wonder if we can spend money without restriction from FFP any longer or what. I hope inter starts selling first rather than buying, just look at Allan case. He was virtually our player last january, but it collapse due to economic reason. Now his price has increased. just sell rano, naga, guarin, hernanes, kuz, obi, taider.
Buy a player above 30 with experience and champions mentality (motta), a player with real talent 18-21yo(i dunno who too much names), and spend the the rest to players with a proven and strong quality 24-29 yo even with high price (benatia, allan, felipe luis, vazquez, darmian).
Priority is not to build a team, it is to win and be competitive. It’s a cruel game, more like a business now. I hope they find a way without selling Kovacic.

the reason why acmilan was more successful than inter during silvio era was because shit like this would never happen instead silvio will act like this : play kova in the left of the midfield , play hernanes as trequartista, play vidic along side rano in defence and drop guarin to the bench otherwise you get your ass sacked.

Hernanes is 30 years old and took a year and a half to find consistency for 5 games. He’s been decent recently, yes, but we should see what that does to his price and if it’s decent, then he should go. He’s also highly prone to injuries, and his wages aren’t at all low to keep him on the bench.
I’d sell him in a heartbeat if a good offer arrives, though it surely won’t be anywhere near the money we paid to get him to Inter in the first place.

To buy a quality players we need a lot of money. Inter cant get it with just selling some shit players that we have because no one will buy Inter’s shit players for a good amount of money.

I will be pissed if they sell Kova.. next time someone at Inter labels a player as the future of Inter I’m gonna start preparing for him to be sold in the next window.. There is NO WAY, we’ll be able to by a better player than Kova for the amount of money we have available.

i hope he dont have any buyout clause. Try to sell Guaro, Kuz, others that rarely used (they dont add any value for us)..concentrate on that first, dont sell those who are contributing significantly (well, im not being fair to Guarin in that sense, but consider its a sacrifice). Just dont sacrifice those who are loved by (majority) of the fans.
The problem is, those who loved by majority of the fans is not necessarily support the coach schema. Which in other word, will be a difficult situation for player itself to shine.
That’s problem for Mancini! If he can’t adopt his scheme and ideas to our young talents around we will build our future, he’s free to leave!

He needs to find the right use for Shaqiri asap and start from there – Handanovic – Kovacic – Brozovic – Shaqiri – Icardi. This is the spine of the team (maybe I’d add Medel if we can’t find anyone better), the rest are expendable.
Can’t agree more. I think the message by Thohir is loud and clear, build the foundation on young player! Mazzari nor Mancini got a massive pressure when he can’t maximize Kova. Mancini didn’t got much option, he should maximize the young player and fulfill the target. Otherwise he gonna lose his popularity among supporter, and push the management to pull the trigger: sacked! Let’s see what happen.
yea but you forgot santon too. I think he is the best full-back we have had since maicon left. We have to add from now on crucial players and not just buy anyone. 2 3 proven great players will help boost this team’s performances

I agree that we need to add at least 3 proven players. But I also believe that we should get rid of the heavy junk draining a lot of money from the club and playing for nothing. Queue Guarin, Kuzmanovic, Campagnaro, Jonathan, Obi, Ranocchia, Nagatomo etc.
I think selling Guarin for anything above 10 million is actually not bad, 15 is like winning the lottery. The guy is way too inconsistent, despite his contribution since he’s arrived. Never really convinced me.

Kovacic is our rough diamond and should be kept
As much as I want handanovic to stay, i would sell him if he does not renew… For his massive penalty stopping and his major saves. I would sell him for around 15-20 mill.. I know many interista will say 20mill is way to much but it’s possible, if Manchester United or Man city came knocking into inters doors… That amount is pocket money for top teams in premier league.
For kovacic, I will not sell him for less than 45-50million, again many would say stay realistic. Actually I am, because when you set the bar high, you only let those big clubs to consider buying him like Madrid.. Etc.. Let’s not forget Madrid bought illarmendi for 30million for his potential.. Kovacic is not fully proven but I can say his potential is so so much higher than illarmendi. It’s just a matter of advertising the player, heck I would hire zampirini for that. He sold dybala of a deal almost worth 40mill (cash+ Bonuses) that’s what inter strongly needs, someone who market players to the market. This will not only benefit the transfer market, it would certainly grab attention of football fans around the world and consider being inter fans in the future.

It’s much easier to replace a goalkeeper than to replace a midfielder. There are even good goalkeepers available for free. Even though I think that selling an important player just to buy another one is not logical because by strengthening one position we will weaken another, so overall this is not good business. We should definitely try to keep them both.

If I were Mancini I’d build the team around Handanovic, Kovacic, Shaqiri, Icardi, Brozovic. Palacio, Medel and Santon can also help out.
The rest are all expendable.
