Employed as left-back once again, Juan played a good game against Athletic Bilbao. Here are his words to Inter Channel after the game: “We did very well, we pressed, the legs are fine. In China there was heat, humidity and fatigue. A great match, we must continue to work well. Playing on the wing I get close to the penalty area, on the goal I went up and took advantage of the opportunity. We must stay focused and do what we practice during the weeks. Even if it is friendly we have to do well for us and for Inter, without mistakes in defense. With a solid defense we can do well, we have to continue like this.”

So he knows that the defence was the problem lol
Hope all the Juan haters saw the game. He did very well.
Mediocre (not a JJ hater)
He had a good performence i would say, i don’t know why most people here think a fullbacks job is to play like a winger.
agree. his role can remind of the chivu role. its always good to have one withdrawn FB and with one very offensive. both juan and santon did good i think.
I agree, both did good, and the more defensive style of Juan allows Santon to go more forward, like Chievu did for Maicon.
exactly! 🙂
Chivu has other skill to be included in the starting 11, one of which is a damn good freekick.
Not really, Chivu played as leftback in our treble season with Sneijder on the pitch as well. Sneijder took pretty much all freekicks and corners.
Positioning and crosses are key for a fullback and he lacks both skills lol
If you think about how “new” he is playing fullback it is not that bad and he makes up for most mistakes with his speed. Of course he is no perfect, but not bad considering the conditions.
Well, considering the it’s the left side of the field, non of our fullbacks can make that much better crosses. But seeing him play on the fullback i feel a lot more safe and he do not loose the ball stupidly making a easy pass as most our other fullbacks does.
come on man, juan jesus naturally-born CB, his leg were big, you are exactly wrong if expect him to run over the flank compare to yuto slim-legged LB
