Ex Inter striker Alessandro Altobelli has been giving his opinion on Inter’s poor pre season results after two more disappointing defeats to Milan and Sassuolo in last night’s TIM Trophy 2015, in an interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I would not give too much weight to the defeat in the Derby, although it is the second defeat in two matches against Milan this Summer.”
“Better against Sassuolo? Let’s say I’ve seen some good football that inspires confidence. Now Mancini has it all, he should only work on what he has available.”

I know that it is only preseason and by by inter standards Milan and sassoulo shouldn’t outplay the like that. They were simply sluggish, Ricardo and JoJo barely had shots on goal , the lost the midfield battle in most parts both games and the defence wasn’t as goods as it is on paper. Mancini has been with inter through 2 transfer window and has had a chance to form a more than enough good squad to call inter
Stop making excuses for him mihajlovic has less time than him and is already doin better and football is not a ripple if inter is not doing good in the preseason so it automatically mean they will do good in the league
Preseason is a Chance you have to show what your team can do so that is why u need to show your hand now so that teams should be able to realise that u mean business
Mancini tactics are not in the right place and the team is suffering
For a team that looks so good on paper and is no where near that level is a shame
A defeat, is a defeat. You will be affected by that.
It’s not just about win and lose. It’s about how you, what would you do, and how much you want, to win. Inter at Trofeo TIM wasn’t Inter that played a match against Bilbao. Everyone seem nervous, clueless, and panic.
If there was a second half, we would most likely score one or two goals, whit or whiteout extra player.
We were not nervous at all. The difference between the Bilbao game and Milan was that Milan have Bacca and Adriano. They had- as a team the extra bite for the game.
However, we played our game whit a plan, so we wasn’t clueless and when we went two goals down we still went playing our game as were told with extra gear but there wasn’t any stupid desperate moves any were on the field so we didn’t panic again.
But agree with you on one point … defeat is defeat.
Yes, perhaps I was a little bit harsh, but before we went two goals down, Inter crumbles when Milan pressing high and tight. Only after Milan loose their play, Inter start to rebuild their game. So, if you win against Inter, press’em high and tight, and look to both flanks since it will be empty because of the fullbacks who haven’t been comeback to help defense.
actually we play better after mancini subs hernandes out and bring in brozo.. just saying bro.. 🙂
Brozovic, he lost the ball too many times, and eventhough he chases back, it will only tired him down. What I’m worried, though, that Inter was easily exposed with pacey player who can dribble past defenders (ehm, Defrel). Or when Milan counter attacked by both flanks, the Inter’s fullbacks is nowhere to be seen. There are so many to be worked out this season.
