Thats the same formation i called for the other day in another post on this page. I think its the strongest starting XI at this time untill Martin Montoya can get fit and work his way into the lineup. For everyone that wants a more attack minded 4-2-3-1 you need to relax.. If mancini chose that tactic it would leave him very thin on wide players for the bench. Right now Ljajia is the only true back up wing this team has, although Palacio can play that spot in short stints, he is also our only back up ST for Icardi. So the 4-3-3 is the best formation for Inter this year!
Biabiany is training full with the team, he is nearing his comeback i think. We have enough wingers, Palacio, Jojo, Perisic, Ljalic, Biabiany.

Medel and Melo in the same midfield. Anti-football at its worst. And frustrating to see knowing that our problem for so long has been our inability to transition the ball from defense to attack with fluidity and efficiency.
I’d like to see Melo ahead of Medel as he actually has some inkling of composure on the ball and can distribute the ball more effectively.

I think putting in Telles for the derby as his debut is a risk. He is not well known for his defensive capabilities. Also, that midfield is a bit defensive haha.
True but if Jovetic plays on the left, since he is not a natural winger having Telles doing the overlap and providing width will be important and will allow Jojo to go central. Plus Milan doesn’t attack the wings much.
Don’t want to be negative, but I think that Telles will suck big time. We just ended Schelotto’s contract so we needed him to take the place…

The only problem with this formation is ljajic if he doesn’t tracks back to help santon, there will be gap in midfield were bacca can run into, I want us to play like a unit in this game starting from the attack.

This formation has no balance. But fans tend to like formations that include the most attacking/flair players, it just doesn’t work as well in real life.
Only Leonardo would play with that formation lol, his formation is always attackminded. Thats too many attacking players, probably play like that when you are a goal down and in the 70th minute. Mancini will probably use at the most 3 attacking players. He will certaintly use 3 central midfielders, either continue with the 4-3-1-2 for this game or use the 4-3-3.

I think Medel-Kondo-Melo is more solid, not defensive. Cause the offensive duties are on the shoulders of Kondo, fullbacks and wings.

If a narrow, 3-man midfield can’t protect the flanks with a single player dedicated only to defense, then the coach needs to rethink his tactics. 2 defensive midfielders in a side with 4 at the back is overkill and I don’t want to see it at Inter.
Melo and Kondogbia both distribute the ball well, Medel as well showed last year he is capable of passing too, even though his passes were quite short and fairly direct.
Granted, most of his activity amounts to short sideways passes, like you said, it’s still p impressive lol, led in passes per game too. He’s fantastic at recovering the ball and immediately getting it to someone else
Yes Medel is good on recovering and passing quick.
Yet we see on that list 2 important things.
1. There are many players from Roma here, which i believe was the best team last year.
2. Most players here are mids and defs which proves that passing at the defense zone is quite easy.
As a conclusion it is more important and difficult for Ljajic to be on that list, than for Medel. As it also is for Matias Fernandez and Pjanic who moves more forward and is an exceptional player.
Melo has below average distributive ability for a modern midfielder, and Kondogbia I fear is average in this regard. We will be heavily reliant on Jovetic to split defenses with his passing now that Hernanes and Kovacic are gone.
Anyone, and I mean anyone, could complete the passes Medel limits himself to. Fucking amateur footballer could. Don’t let his inflated passing completion stats fool you.

Very well. So Italy 2006 (De Rossi, Gattusso), France 2006 (Viera, Makelele), Inter 2010 (Cambiasso, Motta) and etc. are all overkilling and anti-football teams.
In a midfield of 3, in a team with weak fullbacks and a distinct lack of creativity, having 2 players dedicated entirely to breaking up opposition play is overkill.
De Rossi was, and still is, more than a pure DM. He is a well-rounded box-to-box mid, with his defensive qualities merely another string to his bow.
Cambiasso could dictate the tempo of the game superbly, and his vision and passing range exceeds that of any current player in our side bar Jovetic. Viera likewise.
I’ll give you Makelele, who despite being superior to Medel, would now need to adept to fit into modern football. The Makelele role, as it was, is now extinct. Buquets and Matic embody its modern evolution.
Agree, Melo is backup/competition for Kondo and Medel. Brozo its the creative force in midfield.
melo is brought as a first team player. medel will take a back seat to melo. i suspect it’ll be melo-kondogbia in midfield for the rest of the season.
