Marco Fassone is no longer the General Director of Inter. A farewell that surprised the former director of Napoli and Juventus, who already yesterday morning went to Appiano to empty his office. Then, when he was intercepted by the microphones of Il Giornale, Fassone release a short but symbolic statement: “I did not expect this. A transfer market 18 million Euros in the red, but all in agreement with President Thohir.”

If we want to make Inter more “british” (which I think Thohir wants) we really do not need him, having the CEO Bolingbrook as the CEO and the director of sports is more or less the same thing – right? And if Mancini is getting the title of Manager, like in England he will be working VERY close to Ausilio as the responsible of transfers in and out… That’s the only scenario in which Fassone’s firing makes sense; we are going to make Mancini our Manager, and not only our head coach – which again makes sense now we 3 assistent coaches (sylvinho and the two others) plus our 1.team assistent plus Deki, all ready to take care of the daylie coaching, like in England!
Could it not simply be that Tohir has found him another more suitable director, he think will be an employee who he believes in and think can work well together with? Let’s not forget that Fassone was a recruitment from Moratti, and not Tohir himself and he needs to have one working as general director whom he chosen and trusts in. Another thing we should not forget is that one of qualities mentioned when Fassone first came to Inter, was his experience in building and owning an own stadium from his time in Juventus. And as we won’t probably build a new stadium ourselves, this might be good timing for Tohir to find a general director more suitable for the future he has planned for Inter.
It seems like he got fired..
Yes and Mancini is probably in some ways behind it.
guys what does he mean by “A transfer market 18 million Euros in the red, but all in agreement with President Thohir ” I didn’t quite understood ??
Same here
He probably meant that we concluded the transfer market with 18 million in negative balance. And he probably meant that this was not the cause of his firing due to agreement with Thorir that the transfer market will end up in negative balance due to many purchases.
I agree but perhaps that is the cause of his firing and he’s trying to justify his actions by saying it was in agreement with thohir? That’s how I took it anyway…
Or maybe thohir made that 18mil as an excuse to fire him,but i am still confused why he is fired
Yeah that could be the case – Thohir has wanted to restructure the club to be more like an English premier team from day one…and they don’t have as many directors per team as we do..so maybe?
Yeah I got the feeling like he misunderstood things and thinks he got fired because of this balance or something. Anyway, I was shocked to see him go, he was good for us and I thought he was a part of the new Inter. Good luck to him.
he was the one suppoting mazzari’s renewal which is costing us 3m $$ each season until 2016, we are giving that useless potato 12m for sleeping in his home
