A disappointed Roberto Mancini was interviewed after the loss against Fiorentina:
“The injury on the warm up changed our game, on Ilicic’s first shot we let the second goal in and with the red card on Miranda the game was over. On two shots we let three goals in but I want to compliment Fiorentina who played a good game whilst covering the field well.
The changes in defense? We started with three central defenders, Perisic to the right and Telles to the left. That’s Perisic’s position and we put him there because we wanted him to attack Alonso. At 3-0 we played 4-4-1 not to let more goals in and when we scored the 1-3 goal, we put Palacio as striker again hoping to score another goal.
Bad game for Handanovic? The players aren’t robots. It was a game that started badly and that was finished straight away. We’ve just lost one game and I don’t read the opinions and they won’t change what I think about the team. I’ve always said that we’re in the beginning of the championship and that there are good teams out there. Inter needs to improve everything.”

the funny things about some of people here are, if we win, we are lucky the player got the credit. if we loose, mancini got the blame.. let’s face it, our target from begining was top 3, so we should have expect a loose game like this.. and even if our target is scudetto we should know that shit like this happen some time.. just like mou said, “it’s easy to support the team when we win, but a real fan should support the team when we loose too, if not why should you call yourself a fan!? you better stop coming”. and i agree with mou..
I have got that funny feeling that all 5 wins were lucky and we don’t deserve that many points. The fact that we can’t control a game and can’t create chances is proven by all of our new lucky 1-0 wins. Well fiorentina showed us the reality. We will be lucky if we make top 3. Lets face it we play like shit
And you didn’t have guts to say such things after our first five games.
Yeah I r right. I should have said that earlier. Maybe you can try start a discussion related to my comment..
Yes we’ve been lucky and this game certainly served as a reality check, but I think your statement’s a bit harsh. Don’t forget their first 2 goals were rare mistakes from handa. With the exception of this game we’ve been very solid, and bear in mind the team is almost completely new, so we’ve actually done much better than we could’ve hoped for. Will be interesting to see how we fair in the next few games as the schedule is becoming a lot tougher….
You are no doubt right, but brainless Mancio fans can’t understand you..
I think you are right, but most people including me get exited when we see our beloved team wining and reaching top positions, this is something that hasn’t occur in a while, but we should realize reality, as Mancio indicated the team needs to improve in all areas-
Mancini you need to stop coaching teams. You are complete shit.Just find some job in fashion industry…
Go get a life loser.
you are the type of inter fan that annoyed me the most
we get it….. You hate mancio. Try and be more positive, we’ve actually started the season better than anyone could’ve hoped for. Remember it could be worse…we could only have 5 points like rube haha
Thank you god to remind Mancini that his tactics and selection of players
were unsustainable. It was inevitable to see this loss. This game will
teach Mancini 3 lessons: (1) Inter needs creativity and more ball
possession, which means his starting midfield should include an
attacking midfielder, (2) His defense needs more solidity and this game
reveals that M&M&M was not always the best choice (remember
before Miranda’s sent off, M&M conceded 3 goals already, (3)
Ranocchia was not a defensive problem at all in Inter. One should not
neglect Serie-A experience especially in defensive experience. Remember
it is the first season for Miranda and Murillo. I hope Mancini to fix
the problems at Inter. Otherwise we may see more losses.
