Roberto Mancini tried several different tactical solutions in the afternoon session before the team left for Sicily. The main focus was on the midfielders, the trio that seems most likely to play vs Palermo is Medel, Guarin and Kondogbia. Will Mancini leave Felipe Melo out of the starting eleven?

This whole week I kept reading that we would again use the 4-4-1-1 with Biabiany on the right. Even Mancio mentioned how Icardi will start scoring now with the help of the wingers.
Not to mention Guarin is on low form and didn’t do good with Colombia. While Biabiany is hungry and has been getting some minutes maybe he is ready to start a match. I like 4-4-1-1 better than 4-3-1-2. And I want to see a Medel-Kondogbia partnership in front of defense. with wingers and Jovetic/Ljajic behind Icardi.
You’d bench Perisic? o.O
No I meant he would be one of the wingers in my 4-4-1-1
Melo could appear as a substitute for Kondo or an offensive player to protect a lead in either the Palermo or Bologna games. This would reduce the probability of a yellow card and keep him sharp. Then again, Mancio is the coach.
The way Melo has been playing, I really can’t see Mancini not starting him for 2 games in a row.
I agree. I was only thinking about his usefulness against Roma plus hos yellow card tendancies. Mancio, in my opinion won’t think three games forward.
Finally this gobbo di merda garbage is out!
lmao
Good to rest him, he needs it.
Kondo scored against milan so he’s probably hungry to do something
Not sure if it will happen. I realize that Melo has to rest sooner or later, but this is a dubious thing.
Melo has 4 yellow cards already, and our next game is Bologna away, after which we have Roma at home. Melo’s 5th yellow card will mean a suspension, and with the frequency with which he’s been getting them, it makes no sense to rest him for Palermo and play him with Bologna, because it would represent a risk of suspension for the game against Roma, when Melo will be paramount.
In that sense, it’s logical that Melo will play against Palermo and probably get a yellow, so that he can rest v. Bologna and have his yellow cards count start from scratch for the game against Roma.
On the other hand, considering that Vasquez is the biggest threat from Palermo – we will need a good man marker in midfield, and the best in that sense is Medel (Melo gives more to the defensive phase overall but for individual marking Melo is better).
Could that mean that both Medel and Melo will play again? We can expect a difficult game and Palermo probably won’t give us too much space, which in turn means that we need to have more offensive players in midfield. Meaning we need Kondogbia.
I’d go with Melo and Kondogbia, and I’d trust Melo to be good enough to deal with Vasquez and avoid risking him for the Roma game.
Really good point bro
Good point on the yellows, I definitely prefer Medel marking Vasquez than Melo. Maybe give Melo the last 15-20 to close out the game and get his yellow.
Hmm, perhaps, but I remember Sergio Ramos and another Real Madrid player getting suspended while Mourinho was their coach, because it was very obvious that they had gotten yellow cards on purpose. 🙂
So we’ll have to be careful because the FA hates Inter and they hate Melo so… 🙂
You forget the rest of your sentence mate, they hate inter, and they love jube
THANK YOU coach!
The former Sevilla holders together at the base of midfield once again. I’d rather see Brozo given a run in 1 of the games over Guarin though
