Felipe Melo receives a three game ban after his red card against Lazio. The kick that hit Lucas Biglia in the shoulder is deemed violent, hence he is out for three games and will not be available for coach Roberto Mancini. Inter communicate on their site and on social media they are not appealing the suspension.

maybe we should reconsider if we really need him–
Yesss.I was hoping for it to be banned until end of the season. This gobbo shit bastard ruined our Cristmas.Fuck you garbage!
Hopefully back to 3 men in midfield brozo/guarin-medel-kondog
I think in 4-3-3 we get al our best and in form players to play
Now I hope Brozo gets his chance, but I bet Guarin will play instead.
I don’t actually think the kick was “violent”. It looked worse than it was. He was playing the ball, to get it cleared. His heel happened to come down on Biglia’s shoulder, and Biglia acted like he was dying. A heel to the shoulder doesn’t hurt that much. I’ve had it done to me multiple times.
Not that I really care that much. If he’s going to play that poorly then I don’t want to use him anyway. But I think the multi-match suspension isn’t justified.
I agree, it was uncontrolled, but there was no intent to harm Biglia. The red card was ok under the circumstances, but if they give him three days because it was considered an intentional violent action, its too harsh ..
Inter have a chance to appeal, but they did not take it. I think its due to maintain the sport value.
Yes, I think Inter carefully select which fights to pick with FIGC, and letting go on this one is just sending a signal that the club wants their players to avoid these situations.
well, as a taekwondoin, it hurts so much, not that I defend Biglia, really, it hurts.
Well axe-kicks hurt incredibly much. This wasn’t an axe-kick.
There’s a difference between kicking upwards, then allowing your leg to fall naturally afterwards, vs lifting your leg and then smashing your heel down intentionally as a fighting move. Melo did the first, not the 2nd.
Again, this has been done to me on the field. It aches for a few minutes. Doesn’t warrant the theatrics Biglia went through.
The card was still warranted, as Melo should’ve been paying more careful attention to where his leg was. But saying it was “violent” is silly.
yes I wanted to say that too haha, just want to clarify that kick like that hurts if done intentionally.
It will be different story if it hits Biglia chin and cause a serious injury. Still, I think what melo’s doing is unacceptable.
Lol im no expert in fighting sports but im sure that kick would be illegal in some of them, now this is football and we are Inter, i wouldnt want a player on my team that is known for horror tackles, getting red cards and acting with no brain
Thank you FIGC for making sure that Melo is not going to play for at least 3 games even if Mancini changes his mind!
very sure he’ll use guarin and medel instead 🙁 mancini is very stubborn it’s becoming irritating. should make use of brozovic and kondogbia’s very good forms.
let us hope no number 13 in the starting lineup
Kondogbia played only one good game against Cagliari, wouldn’t call it good form yet
No news on Sempre about the row after the game. Icardi and Melo had a dispute and so did Jovetic and Mancini.
everyone cleared that. mancini , inter.it and jovetic on facebook. Sky is the only channel/newspaper who are authorized to film inside the locker rooms and they didn’t report anything so Gazetta is making shit up.
but if you have seen the match you could see that icardi has gestured to melo multiple times to calm down. and looked very angry after melo was kicked.
I would be surprised if they weren’t angry after this performance. If it stayed there in the locker room and the next day they continue as a thight group I think it would do good to the team
