The Argentine National team coach Gerardo Martino has said that Mauro Icardi is being looked at as a possible striking option for the 2016 Olympic games in Rio. “Yes, we are considering him, such as Luciano Vietto, Paulo Dybala and Jonathan Calleri. We won’t take four strikers in Rio, it depends on what will happen in first team now that Carlos Tevez has come back again. I find it interesting to use the selection of under 23 to have a trial with the players who have not been with the senior team for a while. It is a great challenge for a coach”, Martino said to Clarin.

Before Inter I’m big Argentina fan and always I’m happy to see Inter player at Argentina national team but for now Argentina have better strikers than Icardi. But, I’m sure Icardi will be the future of Argentina’s attack.

Icardi is a great player,hes time in national team will come but for now lets be realistic Argentina have Higuain,Aguero,Tevez etc in attack also Calleri,Dybala are fine young strikers so it is not really a surprise Icardi is not being called to senior team yet..
