Inter’s striker Eder, on the sidelines of the launch of Nike’s event Most Wanted 2016, spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport: “It’s great to see these guys who cultivate the dream of reaching the big football.”
Two great matches are coming up: Fiorentina-Inter and Juventus-Napoli. In the second match, who do you support?
“0-0 (laughs)… No, I think that the match against Viola will be important, perhaps not decisive for the rest of the season but it must be well prepared because Fiorentina are proving to be a great team. But we can go there and play a great match.”
At the moment Inter doesn’t seem brilliant. Has there been incidents that have given you problems?
“The incidents in football matters, like Roberto Mancini said Sunday’s match must be assessed differently according to the episodes. Despite the conceded goals the team played well from the start and I think he is right, then it is normal that if you consider the result of the match you judge it differently. But we have to be positive and look forward positive, we’re there.”
What impression did you have of Inter from the outside and what differences did you find now that you’re here?
“No difference, seeing it and being inside I think it’s a strong team, who can play for big goals.”
Lately, you have a conceded several goals:
“Yes, but Juve passed tough times at the beginning of the championship, as well as Napoli and Roma until a month ago. We did well in the beginning and now it’s a time where things don’t go well. For the rest, however, the team tries to play and do what the coach asks. These are incidents that don’t go well, we have to change it ourselves and we can do it.”
Fiorentina, Roma and Milan: which team do you fear most for third place?
“I think we are all well-equipped, there are still many points to play for and anything can happen. We’re there, we have to believe it. But the others also believe, then we have to believe it more than the others. We have to work well.”
In the ranking of strikers in Serie A where do you put Mauro Icardi?
“Surely one of the first, because he is much younger than a phenomenon like Gonzalo Higuain, but inside the penalty box Mauro is very strong and can still improve at his age.”
And Eder?
“Works, runs, tries to score… But if I have to run to make Icardi score I do so without any problems.”

Hmmm…good answers..Icardi will never bee the beat striker in the league till Higuain falls off a cliff or something..hate the guy for scoring those two lucky goals against us but he is world class.I like how Eder says he has to run to make Icardi score…too many selfish forwards in the squad for my liking.
Yeah he will be good for us,he knows Icardi from their time at Samp and he is not selfish player so i hope Icardi will benefit from him too..But im still saying we should have bought him in the summer and invest in the CM this january lol
