He played four seasons at Inter between 1993 and 1997, at the end of Pellegrini’s era and the beginning of Massimo Moratti’s, made 107 appearances and won the UEFA Cup in 1994: Massimo Paganin was among the guests of the Hall Of Fame of FIGC that took place yesterday morning in Florence. The former defender, now a commentator for Mediaset Premium, granted an interview to FcInterNews.it in which he analyzed the present moment of Inter, returning from 3-1 against Samp and will face league leaders Juventus on Sunday.

What did you think about Inter against Sampdoria?
“They struggled, they are still recovering a little and is trying to find the right distances between the different parts of the team and improve the defense. They gave Sampdoria some chances but I think this time it was more important to win than anything else to remain in the race for third place. The match against Juventus will show whether Inter will be able to get themselves together and regroup with the right mindset.”

Do you think that Inter can do harm to Juve next Sunday?
“I think they will give it a go, Juve have proven to be of the highest level but Inter is Inter, the players know it and regardless of the classification an important performance will be needed. Inter will not enter the pitch thinking about the difference in standings but knowing it will be a match between two clubs with a great history behind them. The mentality has to be the right one, awareness, security, trust and competitive nastiness have to be those of an important game and I know that people at Inter find themselves in this mentality when they face Juventus.”

Will Eder be the secret weapon to surprise Juventus?
“The important thing is that he can get going, it is not easy to fit into a new environment, with new teammates and score an early goal. Now he is looking for his place on the pitch and will have to try to be able to find the right amount of fluid movement, understand what the teammates want from him and vice versa. It takes time, but I think Mancini has found his formation and that is the right way. The next game counts because Inter will have to prove to be out of this moment.”
