Napoli aren’t the only club in for Mauro Icardi as Il Giornale reveal that Arsenal share an interest in the Inter captain and could offer 70 million for his services. Inter continue to label Icardi as indispensable but could sell given they find a replacement equal to or better than Icardi.

Best solution: renew Icardi and give him the salary that he deserves. Maybe we should put price tag clause 100 million euros. He will rise strongly this season with Perisic and Candreva will be assisting for fun. I’m quite sure, Icardi’s valuation will surpass Higuain 94 million euros.

Are you all crazy?? 70 million euros for Icardi!! That’s an insane huge amount, and I’ll sell him right away! He is a pretty good striker with great potential, but in my book, he is not worth 70 million. Icardi isn’t a teamplayer, and I honestly don’t believe Icardi is the player to take Inter back to greatness. He is a player, that can’t do anything on his own. He need players around him to provide him with balls inside the penalty area, where (I admit) he is a beast, but I don’t believe, that I’ve once watched him dribble past one opponent. Don’t get me wrong, I really like Icardi, but with all that drama surrounding him, Inter is better without him. And if the rumours about Cavani and Oscar are true, then Inter will have a pretty decent squad for next season.

I’m with you in a lot of respects, in terms of Icardi’s characteristics. He’s not tall enough or strong enough to get beast-mode headers at a standstill toe-to-toe with center-backs all the time. He’s not fast enough to run by people all the time. His dribbling ability is lacking. He’s poor on the pass. He can’t seem to shoot from distance, no is he even notably good from mid-range. He is ENTIRELY a target man. He’s very good at that, however I’m just not comfortable betting on him the way I was, say, Eto’o… a guy who not only could finish well in the box, but was lightning-fast, great from mid-range, and could dribble past nearly anyone. I love versatile players.
All that said… what’s the alternative? Not Cavani, unless the difference between what we get for Icardi and what we pay for Cavani is more than $20mil. I’m not interested in swapping a 23-year-old for a 29-year-old. Maybe if we can end up with Lacazette + $20mil or more that we spend immediately to improve the team, I’d be okay with it.
It all comes down to what our plan would be if Icardi were sold. I imagine that for this season, we may do better to keep him than sell him, despite my misgivings about what a one-dimensional player he seems to be. That is, as long as we wrap or Candreva or whoever else for that right wing, to give him proper service.

Inter will not sell Icardi. The only reason of why Inter should not sell Icardi is there’s SO DIFFICULT to find a quality striker at this moment.. Look at ManUtd who has 34 years old quality striker as their #1 bomber. And look at Higuain sold for €90million at his 29?! Is that make sense? To Juventus who is very famous in purchasing ‘cheap’ player and make them expensive (ex. Pogba). They even buy Higuain at that price! That’s why Inter should not sell Icardi despite there’s a fu**ing shitty wife Wanda Nara, but be realistic. Icardi is our diamond at this modern football which very rare of having quality target man like Icardi.
You have a point, we shouldn’t sell him, but I believe that we cannot keep him as well, he might ask now for a contract renwel, maybe next year the same, and some other players will want to do the same thing, managements shouldn’t work like that, plus that rube bought their pogbas when they were building their team, now they want to win everything, that’s why they paid higuain release clause, we can’t do the same, I see us only buying average players and plenty of them. I believe our market is the following, search for free transfers during the season and pay for the average players in late August so you can get them for cheaper, bcz if u want big names you should buy them as soon as the transfer window opens
The offer seems tempting but Icardi has been great for us without a pure number 10 behind him feeding him the ball. Now with Banega in that position, we can finally see Icardi get some great service and possibly score even more goals.

Just freakin’ renew him, there is no other striker better than him unless we automatically spend all the money we make by selling him. There is no point then. And I would be pissed if we sell him to bet on some unproven talent that might or might not deliver in a few years after he grows and adapt to serie A, I tired of waiting for the reconstruction period to be over.
