Sassuolo were interested in Andrea Ranocchia earlier this summer, but a move never materialized. Now, according to La Gazzetta Di Parma, Sassuolo want the former Inter captain on a loan with and obligation to buy for 5 million euros. The Neroverdi will likely make a bid once they officially qualify for the Europa League group stages.

Its irrelevant to his value now. Ranocchia is an absolute disaster of a player. It was insane that his contract was extended last summer (and he was even given a slight salary raise WTF???). Cant believe nobody has been fired from that idiotic move.
He is definitely among the top 5 worst Inter transfers post 2000.
I will explain to you the reasoning behind extending Ranocchia’s contract…..with 1 year left in his contract it was rumored that he would go to Juventus on a free transfer so that he can play for his ex-coach Conte and his ex-partner Bonucci who played together long ago with Bari. The fear that Juve could turn Ranocchia into a star while he flopped at Inter and the potential of Juve being able to sell him at a profit was too embarrassing for Inter brass to take a chance of happening so in order to prevent any possibility of that happening they signed him long-term AND made him the captain to boot ! Secondly, Inter had in their grasp a defender now valued at 60 million euros named Leonardo Bonucci and Inter scouts (which should say it all but I will continue) believed that Ranocchia was a better player than Bonucci. so how did that work out for you guys ?

Conte left Rubentus in the summer of 2014 (a year before Ranocchias contract was running out). So how could he join Conte at Rubentus when Conte was leaving? Great logic there.
And free transfer? He could have joined Rubentus on a free transfer. His contract would have run out last summer, just days before Inter extended his contract. So not much logic in your argument there either. Any club could have offered Ranocchia a contract summer, but only Inter were stupid enough.
Also he was made captain a year BEFORE his contract ran out, not after. In fact they extended his contract and then gave the captain armband to Icardi instead, which just makes the extension even more mindblowing.
And how did selling Bonucci work out? Pretty good i’d say considering he was involved in the swap deal for Milito and Motta who contributed quite alot to the treble…

Ranocchia was bought 1½ year AFTER Bonucci was sold. They have absolutely nothing to do with eachother.

Beside andreoli, we still have danilo, medel, ansaldi that can cover for Miranda-Murillo, also there are still those youngster we can give a chance or two.
I think almost every Inter fan on the planet would be happy to get rid of this donkey of a player.
But i doubt this will happen, mainly because Ranocchia is earning 2,4m€ at Inter and there is no way in hell Sassuolo will match that.
I also think that Ranocchia thinks pretty highly of himself (which he shouldnt) and might not even be interested in joining Sassuolo even if by some miracle they can match his current salary.

I would like to see us develop him. I think that this is one of the things that makes bonucci so good. He is basicly a cb regista. We need to take our young boy who can make good long passes and have him work with and develop under Miranda and learn how to see passes from banega.
