According to the Sun, it’s no longer only Inter in pole position for Italian international Matteo Darmian, who’s current situation at Manchester United might force him to leave in January. The Catalans are trying to find a replacement for Aleix Vidal and are currently looking at the Italian terzino. But Inter might still be ahead since it’s their Vice President Javier Zanetti handling the transfer, which means he can put pressure on old friend José Mourinho in order to get Darmian to chose the right path.

Darmian isn’t seeing time in the PL because of his struggles getting forward, so why would Barcelona have any interest in him, regardless of their current fullback situation? He is not the type of fullback Barcelona would sign, so I see these rumors as complete bullshit.
After his failure abroad he will do everything to get back to Italy. I don’t think he will risk same failure at Barca where competition is stiff for every place. He will be guaranteed right back starter at Inter.
What a load of crap; Should our “back up president” who hasn’t got any power what so ever be handling the transfer of Darmian and not Bardini (or what he’s called), or Ausillio, who’s jobs it is to do exactly that???
Vidal is a very interesting player BTW and if Darmian goes to Barca maybe we could get him in on loan in stead?
