Medel, Murillo, Miranda, Banega and Nagatomo returned yesterday and today. That means that today is the first day where Stefano Pioli has had a full roster to prepare for the derby. Despite the various absences the team seems already made for a large part. The formations to chose from is 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 with Brozovic as a slight favourite instead of Banega who has a transatlantic flight to recover from.

The last knots to tie? The choice of the fullbacks. Yesterday saw Ansaldi to the left and D’Ambrosio to the right, but watch out for Nagatomo who might be better suited to cope with Niang’s speed.

If you want to start with 2 forwards then Eder would be better. Runs more can help in defense and move between the lines.

IMO, for now, Medel is a must starter for defensive balance. 4-2-3-1 Ansaldi Murillo Miranda Santon – Medel Mario – Perisic Banega (Brozo) Candreva (Eder) – Icardi.

There is no doubt Brozovic will start the game. The question is who will join him in midfield. We know for certain that J. Mario will also play. That leaves the third guy. Since its Pioli’s first game I think he will play it safe with a more defensive midfield, hence Medel is the favourite. That gives us Brozo-Medel-Mario. Up front am scared he will choose Candreva. Would prefer Eder and Perisic. At the back Murillo and the fullbacks are our main weakness. If they don’t fuck up we should win this derby.

You start Brozo over Banega, you’re gonna have a bad time. There’s plenty of time for recovery from a transatlantic flight, we need his class.
Why not play both and let candreva start from the bench, more control. Bilan can’t control or create the game, they frustrate u with alot of running toughness and if anything comes there way then ok, they just lucky.
I dont really understand why we aren’t playing medel as a central defender instead of Murillo. It is the same position as he plays for Chile. He does pretty well there. It would also free up an extra space in central midfield so 3/4 between Banega, Brozo, Kondogbia and Joao Mario can start the game.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Kondogbia started the game, he has been working with Pioli for almost 2 weeks now without going away and has had the chance to show what he is made of.
Medel, mario and Kondogbia with Mario in an advanced role could work, and if Medel who should be tired just like Banega is rested I´d play Broso who has been on fire lately for Club and Nation, then Kondog should play “destroyer”, and Mario and Broso 2 box-to-box beasts!
Brozo on fire??? Lol. For nation yes. For club far from it.
He has played, I think, two games after FDB finally toke him in again and in the second he really was involved with a lot and was much more involved and impressive than for example Banega, so yes his form is surely rising.
For Croatia he played as an Attaicking mid/ right winger that cut inside and was superb!
If we compare Banega and Broso the latter is doing much better right now.
Yeah i really hope K-dog will get his chance, and play!
