Interviewed by Calciomercato.com, Gabriel Barbosa’s agent Wagner Ribeiro commented after Inter’s 3-0 victory over Lazio on Wednesday night.
“I watched the game and Gabigol demonstrated he deserves a chance,” Ribeiro stated.
“He joined Inter with joy and will, I talked to him after the game and he was happy. Gabriel should remain and win, for sure he can not go back to Brazil. On January 12nd I’ll be in Milan, we want Gabriel to remain but the last word is by Pioli.
“I’m sure if the coach will give him a chance, Gabriel will not exit the field anymore. If Inter will decide for a loan, Italy is the best option. He’s in very good relationships with all his teammates, for me he would be perfect to play offensive winger in 4-3-3 system.”
I get that Italian football is very disciplined in defense. But those passes he put out were really good. Candreva is hot right now, but we all remember the harder times this season where all he did was throw up crosses to nowhere. I say let the boy play his way I was excited the whole time he was on the pitch and there was some real attacking threat when he dribbles down the line. I get that if we were losing his flair would look like he is wasting chances, but sometimes the flair can Ben the key to unlocking tight defense.
I know you mean, but I don’t think Candreva is the problem by now, instead I like to have a replacement for Perisic, not sure if Gabi could play in the other wing-

I do quite understand why pioli prefer candreva. Gabigol has too much unnecessery move, meanwhile candrea is on fire right now. Not to mention, candreva is helping defense a lot, while gabigol off ball movement is still really bad i think.

I didn’t say I didn’t enjoy it. But Pioli scolded him after the game, he seems to be a fan of performance rather than technique. And stability, which is why Palacio is often chosen rather than Gabriel.
