Palermo have been linked with a move for Andrea Ranocchia in January, with the defender struggling for game time at Inter.

However, the vice-president of the Sicilians, Guglielmo Micciché, denied the reports: “I can exclude it, I smile because it’s unthinkable he could leave Inter to join Palermo.

“We are however chasing other players useful to our strategy.”
