According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, he was there to scout the Giallorossi defender Kostas Manolas as well as Federico Bernardeschi of La Viola.
He also kept an eye on young winger Federico Chiesa who could be a potential long-term replacement for Antonio Candreva.
