AC Milan Striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic Could Miss Milan Derby Clash With Inter Due To Injury, Italian Media Report

AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is an injury doubt for the Milan derby on Saturday.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Swede will only play in the match if he makes a complete recovery from the tendon injury he picked up against Juventus.

Ibrahimovic had to come off the pitch at around the half-hour mark of Milan’s goalless draw with the Bianconeri before the international break, with what was revealed to be a problem in his ankle tendon.

The 40-year-old is hoping to be able to start for the Rossoneri in the derby, but he will not be risked if he has not made a full recovery, as this could potentially cause his issue to worsen significantly.

The Rossoneri are continually monitoring Ibrahimovic’s recovery progress to make a decision on whether he should start against Inter, but a final decision will likely only arrive in the hours before the match.
