Union Berlin are considering making Inter Milan an offer of around €15-18 million for Germany international Robin Gosens.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the negotiations between the two clubs are now ongoing, with the Nerazzurri having lined up Monza’s Carlos Augusto as a replacement for Gosens.
This is not the first transfer window in which Gosens’s future as an Inter player has looked up in the air.
On the contrary, in each of the windows since his arrival from Atalanta, the 29-year-old has been the subject of transfer interest from the Bundesliga.
This summer, it has been Union Berlin who have stepped up.
The club from the German capital are not the only team interested in signing Gosens. Wolfsburg have also made their approach to try and bring the former Atalanta wingback to the Bundesliga.
Meanwhile, Premier League duo Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest have also shown an interest.
However, it was Union who led the charge earlier in the window. And, the Gazzetta report, they are still interested in signing the Inter man.
Union Berlin Still Want Gosens – Could Offer Inter €15-18M
According to the Gazzetta, the talks between Inter and Union are continuing.
Whilst the Germans still haven’t presented a formal offer to the Nerazzurri, they are getting closer and closer to doing so.
Union want to bring in Gosens to reinforce their squad for their first ever season in the Champions League.
And, the Gazzetta report, they are prepared to shell out around €15-18 million to do so.
This would not be too far away from what Inter expect, and could see a deal happen in the next couple weeks.
Key for the Nerazzurri is the fact that such a fee would give them the resources to invest in a replacement.
Inter want to go after Monza wingback Augusto to replace Gosens, and they would likely be able to sign the Brazilian for right around the same fee that Union are ready to offer for the German.
