Inter Milan wingback Carlos Augusto will make his debut for Brazil this evening, starting in the Selecao’s World Cup qualifier against Uruguay.

This according to Brazilian news outlet Lance!, via FCInterNews, who report that Atletico Mineiro left-back Guillherme Arana will make way for the 24-year-old Nerazzurri man.

Augusto earned his first ever call-up for the Brazilian national team during the current international break.

This followed a strong start to the season at Inter for the wingback.

Augusto joined the Nerazzurri during the summer transfer window. He arrived from Monza, taking the place of Robin Gosens on the left flank.

Augusto has not been a regular starter for Inter over the first few weeks of the season.

It is still Federico Dimarco who has tended to start matches for Inter.

However, Augusto has already made two starts for the Nerazzurri, including in the Champions League against Real Sociedad.

The Brazilian’s form has been good. He has shown that he can bring energy and attacking quality, as well as defensive solidity and tracking back on the left side.

Despite having earned his first call-up for Brazil during the break, Augusto has yet to take the pitch for the Selecao.

The Inter man was an unused substitute in Brazil’s 1-1 draw against Paraguay last week.

Former Sevilla fullback Arana started on the left in that match.

However, Lance! report, Augusto will get his chance this evening.

Not only will the former Monza player play. He will do some from the first whistle.

This will certainly be a major opportunity for Augusto to start to show his quality at international level.

Prior to joining Inter this summer, the Brazilian had shone for the Brianzoli.

In his first season in Serie A last time around, Augusto scored six goals and assisted a further five.
