Inter Milan must make a decision on the future of veteran defenders Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij at the end of the season.

According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, both players will sit down with the club hierarchy to discuss this in the summer.

Despite being 37, Francesco Acerbi has been a cornerstone of Simone Inzaghi’s star-studded backline.

Indeed, the ex-Lazio center-back has been among the most consistent first-team stars these past few years.

However, he’s not getting any younger, forcing the club to make up its mind soon.

Inter Milan to Decide Francesco Acerbi & Stefan de Vrij Futures This Summer

Acerbi’s deal at the San Siro runs out in 2026, but Inter can terminate his contract this summer.

Meanwhile, De Vrij has yet to receive fresh terms, with his current deal expiring at the end of the season.

Like Acerbi, the 33-year-old Dutchman has been outstanding this term.

Therefore, Inter must decide whether to renew his contract or cut him loose in the coming months.

But replacing players of this caliber won’t be straightforward.

Isak Hien, Jaka Bijol, Sam Beukema, and Mario Gila have been on Inter’s radar as potential replacements.
