Alfredo Pedulla says it’s “hard to see Simone Inzaghi staying at Inter Milan” and that Cesc Fabregas is on Inter’s shortlist of replacements.

The SportItalia transfer expert explained in a video on his YouTube channel that it is now likelier that Inzaghi leaves the Nerazzurri than that he stays at the club.

The rumours have been swirling for days now that Simone Inzaghi could decide to walk out on Inter.

The temptation of a mega money deal with Al-Hilal has been the main cause.

However, Inter’s crushing defeat at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final is another potential factor.

That loss has really cast a dark cloud over the whole Nerazzurri universe. And it has planted a big seed of doubt – is Inzaghi’s cycle at Inter over?

For their part, Inter want to move forward with Inzaghi. The Nerazzurri will offer the former Lazio coach a contract extension worth €6.5 million net per season.

But it is up to Simone Inzaghi to decide whether or not he feels that he’s up to staying at the San Siro.

SportItalia transfer market expert Alfredo Pedulla stated that “we’re waiting 48-52 hours for the meeting to take place.”

“It’s very tricky to imagine him staying,” he continued. “It’s a question of this being the end of a cycle.

“From my point of view, the cycle is over, and it’s right to move forward on this path competently. Embrace each other for all the memories they created.”

“As far as the replacement of Inzaghi, we’ll have to wait for them to discuss it and clarify,” Pedulla went on.

“He was the one who said he’s not sure if he’s going to the Club World Cup.”

“It’s normal, he has to talk with the club first.”

Pedulla noted that “4-5 names have been mentioned” for a replacement.”

“Since May 26th I’ve been noting Fabregas, who’s the profile people like most. Let’s see, there’s no rush.”
