Simone Inzaghi is at a crossroads after PSG absolutely decimated his Inter Milan side in the Champions League final.
Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, report that the Inter coach has a clear choice. He can stay and rebuild, or join Al-Hilal.
It would be hard to imagine a more emphatic loss than the one that Inter suffered against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final yesterday.
The Parisians absolutely crushed the Nerazzurri’s hopes and dreams of crowning the season with Europe’s biggest trophies.
And in the meantime, the doubts about Inter coach Simone Inzaghi’s future remain. And the nature of Inter’s lost yesterday only amplify them.
Inzaghi At A Crossroads After PSG 5-0 Inter Milan Humiliation

After yesterday’s match, Inzaghi made comments that were hardly reassuring. The Inter coach admitted that he “wasn’t sure” if he’d still be at the Club World Cup this month.
Meanwhile, Nerazzurri President Beppe Marotta attempted to downplay these remarks.
The Inter President insisted that there is “no cause for alarm.”
But behind the scenes, there is no doubt that the next few days will be decisive.
The Gazzetta report that Inzaghi will meet with Inter’s hierarchy either tomorrow or on Tuesday.
The newspaper anticipate that Inter do still want to continue on with the 49-year-old at the helm. To this end, they are ready to offer him a new contract.
But at the same time, the Nerazzurri and Inzaghi both know that there is a rebuilding job ahead.
So the blunt fact of yesterday’s loss to PSG will certainly hang over these upcoming talks. Both Inter and Inzaghi know the scale of the task that awaits them.
And in the meantime, Simone Inzaghi is still considering a much different offer.
Al-Hilal are determined to snap up the former Lazio coach. It is no secret that the Saudi Pro League club have made an absolutely monumental offer to try and turn his head.
If Inzaghi decides that yesterday’s crushing defeat represents the end of his cycle at Inter, he could except that massive financial incentive and head for the exit door.
PSG gets the trophy, INTER gets the money, no one is harmed. Maybe it’s just a matter of prestige, but we have to be objective, the wealth of these two teams is like heaven and earth. I’m sure if Inzaghi was on PSG’s side, and Enrique was on Inter’s side, the result would still be the same.
PSG lost to Arsenal Atletico Bayern, struggle to win in the beginning, while we beat Arsenal Bayern Barcelona having the best record to final, for someone to come up with players quality is really cheap excuse, PSG players are not far more superior than Arsenal Bayern or Barcelona, but PSG did the tactical adjustments that make them unbeatable, thats what a great coach needs to do. If you go up against midtable team like Milan 5 times and not able to get a single win, you seriously need to question the coach credibility. No quality player can save us from the massacre that night, not even Real Madrid players can, it is a tactical genius by Enrique, to shut us down is simple, just mark Lautaro Thuram Dimarco Dumfries and we are going nowhere, our midfielders sit too deep, to score against us, just place quick players in between our defensive lines and they will kill us, no team is playing out wide like 2 years ago, that will be easy for us, they are way more dynamic today and we are static defensively, thats why I think we cant afford to play the same way next season and I dont think Inzaghi is revolutionary enough to bring a change, if he couldn’t make adjustments in 4 years, I seriously doubt we would see a different Inzaghi next season. I’m ok for him to stay if he can present versatility to our game, else it is just a waste of time because we are not improving.
its like someone spitting on your face in front of so many people with this kind of loss. i dont know him since never talk n meet him, but somehow i feel like he is staying n will comeback with better mindset n heart.
He should go. We need a new coach with new formation, new tactics, new ideas. Thank you Mister but you have to leave.
if you have a new coach n new tactics but finished like 3rd or 4th n ended up in knocked out early in UCL,, will u ask to change coach again?
what would you be asking for the new coach? n how much do you think that inter budget can satisfy the new coach demand to make his idea working?
in the day like yesterday boy i think we need a player like sneijder. fast in changing from defending to attacking phase to put the ball intellegently without predictability for the opponents to guess. while we dont prepare any of them, bcos the tactics so far on how to maximalize the players to be subbed base on positions, not on fluid tactics. and i hate to see my predictions since the beginning so right so far, we fight ourselves with the tiredness and the exhausting tactics
Everything needs money bro, Inter is not PSG, whatever you want can be bought without much consideration.
couldnt agree less, there is no such as thing like financial fair play in football, it only happens in NBA as they have fair payrolls for every team.
If Inter doesn’t want to spend money to buy players, it’s better to find a club that is more serious about wanting to win. Al-Hilal is the best choice. Inter wants to dominate Europe, but doesn’t want to spend money to buy players, this is ridiculous.
Agree. PSG also spent a lot for 15 years to get this achievement.
It was a very disappointing performance from inter the worst I’ve seen them play, but the manager for me should not be considering leaving so close to missing out on the seria a and led us to a champions league final the second one in three years, so in my eyes we are definitely going on the right direction, just need some quality players to make it a success
pls we should just leave mister to go and explore some more whiles we find new coach so the boys can breathe a fresh air
thank you mister ❤️
