Highly-rated 20-year-old center-forward Francesco Pio Esposito is the present and future of Inter Milan.

According to Corriere della Sera via FCInterNews, the prodigious youngster is a ‘breath of fresh air’ at San Siro.

Inter heavily relied on Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram last season.

Indeed, Joaquin Correa and Marko Arnautovic struggled to match the high standards set by the Thu-La duo.

Therefore, Inter brought Francesco Pio Esposito back to base in the summer.

Furthermore, Cristian Chivu reunited with his former Parma pupil Ange-Yoan Bonny in Milan.

Chivu handed Esposito his Champions League debut last night.

Despite failing to score in Inter’s 2-0 win at Ajax, the talented striker demonstrated glimpses of his potential.

Indeed, his tactical prowess and commendable work rate earned him broad plaudits.

Although he has yet to score this season, Esposito has already been an upgrade on Correa and Arnautovic.

His inspiring performance last night showed Inter may no longer need to over-rely on ‘usual suspects’ Lautaro and Thuram.
